Hiking from Valbona – Theth
Valbona Pass - Known as the Big Day of the tour, embark on an exciting hike from Valbona to Theth along an ancient path used by locals for generations. Historically, traveling from Valbona to Shkoder required two full days of walking! This path leads through the oldest part of the village, where residents still inhabit stone houses over a century old, offering a glimpse into the past. The 18-km trek provides breathtaking views of expansive rocky valleys and lush forests. Lunch is at a traditional café along the route, but it’s wise to bring snacks just in case.
Theth - After a 7-8 hour trek, arrive in Theth, a place sure to captivate with its unique nature, history, and traditions, including the village’s iconic Lock-In Tower. Overnight stay and dinner at a guesthouse.
Theth – Blue Eye - Shkoder – Tirana
Grunasi Waterfall - Following breakfast at the guesthouse, the “Gurnas” Waterfall is the next highlight. It’s about a 45-minute walk from the village center, passing through much of the village into gently rolling terrain.
Blue Eye of Theth - Located approximately 10 km from Theth’s center, this natural water pool is the main attraction on the third day. With a depth of 5 meters and icy waters at 5°C, the Blue Eye is formed by water erosion from the mountains. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Blue Eye and return to the guesthouse in the afternoon.
Shkodër - Leaving Theth behind, a 3-hour drive brings us to Shkoder, the largest city in Northern Albania. Enjoy some free time in Shkoder before returning to Tirana in the evening, marking the end of the tour.
