Had a really good experience! - The tour was really good! Our guide explain ed us about the Albanian culture, history and good places to eat! I really enjoyed the tour, thank you!

1* for Around Balkans, 10* for Fatos our driver/guide. - 1* for the tour company Around Balkans. The communication from Renato there was lacking. I'd already booked a a 2nd tour to Ksamil with them the next day too- and they didn't even show up! This company may appear cheaper than the competitors , but don't fall for it as you could be let down.
However on the Monday for Macedonia I was indeed, finally picked up 90 minutes later than scheduled after thinking it would be a no show due to a lack of communication.
The tour itself was brilliant and 10***** for our driver/guide Fatos who himself made it great..he was fantastic!! He's a fast, but very safe driver. I sat in the front and never took chances or risks. He let us do as many stops needed and took photos for us - Fatos gave us great service with a smile. Ohrid is beautiful and we also had a boat ride on the lake.
However 1* for this Around Balkans company though..unprofessional, unreliable and even dishonest. The chap Renato was handling the whatsapp chat and ended up blocking me and declined my call at 6.20am when he told me at midnight to be ready for 6am for the Ksamil tour which was meant to be 7.30am. I don't mind I had to be 90 minutes early as had no choice, but to not turn up and mess me around is terrible! I have all the proof on the whatsapp thread both with Renato from Around Balkans and also the platform I booked through who are processing a refund for that Ksamil tour they never picked me up for.
With God's blessings it actually worked out better for me as I spent a full day less than an hour from Tirana on a quiet beach used by locals and not tourists..its was amazing and I felt I was in the Caribbean! I won't name it as locals don't want it flooded with tourists..I was taken by a local friend.
Avoid Around Balkans and book with a professional company.

Beware - I would never use this your company - Terrible experience. We booked a Private tour and they sent a shuttle van with other people and called it private bc it wasn’t a large group bus. When we Whatsapp’ed to still get our private tour, they were terrible to deal with and insisted that a private tour is a tour with 5-7 people even though the other people are not in your group. We cancelled and have yet to see the refund. Viator also said that they would get back to us after we spoke with them and they didn’t even follow up. I would not ever use this group.

Screwed - If you have hotel pickup they can and will lie to have you meet them somewhere convenient to them and other pickups. Viator never backs you up.
