• Wadi Shab - One of the most stunning wadis in Oman, where water has carved its way through rock over centuries, creating deep gorges and freshwater pools. From the parking lot, a 45-minute hike along the wadi leads to the deep aquamarine pools at the back of the valley. Please be aware that you will need to walk through water towards the end of the hike, so appropriate footwear is recommended. Enjoy an afternoon of swimming in the pools.
• Bimmah Sinkhole - Located in Dabab village, 113 KM from Muscat. There are various stories behind the formation of the sinkhole. Local inhabitants have a legendary story that a meteorite fell in this location, as its name in Arabic “Hawiyat Najam” translates to “The Falling Star.” However, scientific research conducted by experts and geologists has confirmed that the crater was formed as a natural consequence of the interaction of dissolving limestone, which contains carbonate, with water, resulting in the collapse of the earth’s upper crust layer.
