A fascinating and entertaining insight into the history of Toledo - We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide Sara. She was an enthusiastic and entertaining companion with an impressive knowledge of the history and archeology of Toledo. Her English was excellent. She managed to show us fascinating details about the city that we would have walked right past. I can honestly say that this tour greatly enhanced our knowledge and enjoyment of Toledo. Highly recommended!

A private experience packed with history - We had Alexandra as our guide. She was so funny (very dry humor), knowledgeable, and loved a grand reveal of stunning sites. She took us to less touristy places and knew everyone, so was able to sneak us into a couple of bonus places. Toledo is a hard place to do a tour for because there is so much history, but we covered a lot of ground in 3 hours! The tour is quite a bit of walking, with some hills. We have already recommended it to a couple of other tourists!

Historical and present day Toledo - My husband and I had the pleasure of a private tour of Toledo with Alejandro. As a trained archeologist born in Toledo, his unique insights and knowledge gave us an appreciation not just of the history of the city but also of the daily lives of its modern citizens. Definitely recommend.

Toledo history tour - Alejandro was a great and personable guide. He met us at the train station and we took a cab into the city. You stop on the way in for a breathtaking view. He then walks you through the city, discussing daily life and history. You get to see two archeological sites not open to the general public. There are several times along the way you can stop to purchase something if you like, but no real pressure to do so. You end the tour in the main square and can wander around at your leisure afterwards.

Better than we expected - Alejandra was an amazing tour guide! Extremely knowledgeable and fun personality. She was an instant friend and she showed us everything we wanted to see and more. She definitely knew the paths to take that kept us out of the main tourist areas so it felt private. We highly recommend this tour in Toledo!

A special insight no guidebook could offer - Alejandro, an archaeologist, was the perfect guide for our three walking tours of his beloved city giving us a taste of this special place that went way beyond anything that could be gleaned from a mere guide book together with the privilege of venturing under the street transporting us to a time long past revealed in a Muslim hammam and Jewish mikveh so perfectly preserved on the granite bedrock. Our walking tour, divided over three days encompassed the Jewish, Christian and Muslim heritage of this historical city where the three cultures interweave so fascinatingly. In addition, the recommendations for places to eat and, off the usual tourist trail places to see, was a special treat. Don’t miss the tapas at Taberna Botero nor stint on the marzipan this city is so famous for…esp Santo Tomé but also those bought directly from the nunneries in the heart of the city. Nothing was too much trouble for our kind and knowledgeable guide who on departing also called a taxi for us to ride out to the Parador for an overview of this special place. We weren’t surprised to find Toledo featured in the travel section of our Sunday Times paper as well as being visited in Monty Don’s new series visiting gardens in Spain. Make sure you seek out Alejandro if you are lucky enough to visit Toledo. You won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to return.

Must do tour! - Alejandro was incredible! This tour was special because we felt like we were really hanging out with a knowledgeable local. He was really passionate about his city and transmitted that at every turn of our walking tour. The time went by really fast because we were having a great time. Truly recommend this tour!! One of the best tours we’ve had so far in Spain!

You won't regret this - Alejandro was great! He showed up promptly on time and was very friendly. The tour itself was amazing. We got to walk around Toledo away from the main crowds and learn about the history of Spain, Toledo, and archaeology. He recommended a great place for lunch - and handled making the reservation for us - and made himself available if we had questions on the rest of our trip. He could tell that my husband and I were nerds and leaned heavily into history and facts which we really appreciated. Highly recommended - one of our favorite tours we've done!
