Visit to Tetouan from Malaga Centro. - The experience is very complete. Very experienced guides and good people. The places you visit are very emblematic for the city.

Positive experience, good guides but overstated description and too much time in transit - The guides Alex, Abdul and Aziz are great and fully support the experience. The upside : - the visit to the Medina itself, which couldn't be safely done without guidance, - the traditional lunch, - the attention and the explanations of the guides to the group. - the adaptation of the itinerary to catch up on delays at the customs The downside : - the description of the excursion, which overstates what we actually see and minimises the fact that on a 15+ hour excursion, 10 of those hours are just moving and waiting (bus, ferry, customs) for a 4-ish-hour visit in total - the timing of the bathroom breaks and the meal could be improved - the stop at the fragrance shop could have been shortened - little time to buy souvenirs - little delay in the morning for the pick up

Trip to Tetuan - Highlight the good work of the guides, Alex was super attentive and always willing that we were okay but Abdul leaves, without him the visit would not be the same and his assistant Asis also a 10 for them two

The Souk of Tetouan - We started the excursion in Algeciras, we joined a group that came from Malaga, we met Alex our guide in Spanish; excellent professional with extensive knowledge of history with which we learned a lot; added to his human quality, he contained us, was guiding us and giving security before crossing two borders. Arrived in Ceuta we are introduced to the second Moroccan guide, native of the place and knowledgeable of the site who would be in charge of the rest of the tour. During all the hours we stayed in Tetouan we were always accompanied by Alex and another person who joined the group taking care of us so that no one separated from the group or we were followed by the street vendors. The guide in charge mentioned took us where he wanted: we walked through a sector of the souk, had lunch, went to a dark shop full of carpets and antiques in which no one from the group was interested and despite that they had us about an hour trying to get someone to buy something. They took us to the Zomorod Cooperative they call "the pharmacy." They divided the group to give two talks trying to get us to buy products by all means. My dream was to meet Marquecos to buy condiments at the famous spice markets, but they didn't... they answered that you could only buy the products of that cooperative because they were authentic. . I would have had enough time to buy the quantity and variety that I decided and not just 3 packs that they offered there. I felt disappointed and lack of freedom, and not exactly for lack of time. We returned to Algeciras again accompanied by Axel who was the best of the experience lived.

Nice and long day - The tour started very early, type 06 am we were ready to start from Malaga. Generally speaking it is a good day to remember and think that I visited the African continent. To make a sincere assessment I would divide the tour into two parts: the 1st was spectacular, very well the guides, very friendly and informed. We visited the Medina and ate in a typical place with musicians, so far everything perfect! but then we did not like the commercial part of the tour. We spent a lot of time in a pharmacy where they wanted to sell us products, which took a lot of time away from the tour, and then we were taken to a carpet sales site where we also spent time that would have been very valuable to have taken advantage of it in the city, the markets, and live the few hours of the day in that most typical Mood. The carpet shop had a part of "souvenirs" underneath but they were super old and with a lot of dust, it would be good to keep a little care and offer greater variety since for visitors who want to take a small souvenir there is no other stop but this to buy. Generally speaking the tour is good and you have a good memory, but it is many hours of travel combining the back and forth and the time in the city should be distributed different to be able to make the most of it. Thank you!

Not for me - Very long day, our guide Alex was great, the trip itself was 18 hours start to finish, long border crossings bordering on the ridiculous, thats not the tours fault, thats moroccan customs, arrived in tetuan eventually to be led through town, through the medina to a restaurant,on the way to the restaurant the guides bought a few pieces of bread and a round of goats cheese, they just handed the bread out to people on the trip, then invited people to dip their fingers in the goats cheese, by the time the bread came to me it had been handled by several different people, with the obvious health implications and people literally dipping their fingers in the soft goats cheese, i said no, the restaurant itself was ok to look at, music, dancers, offered people a small can of coke or Fanta but then charged us €2 for it at the end of what was a very bland meal, luke warm bland soup, chicken and couscous which was bland and also just luke warm, the dancers and other entertainers were literally grabbing hold of my leg begging for tips on the way out of the restaurant, the rest of the day was a sales pitch with the Moroccan guides Abdul and aziz very much in on the sales in a pharmacy and a overpriced rug shop, towards the end of our time in tetuan Abdul found the need to shout at 2 young girls from the Netherlands because he said they kept going in shops in the medina and he had to drag them out, one girl said no, your wrong, this ignited him even more and shouted at them even more, as we were walking back to the coach aziz grabbed hold of my hand and was asking for tips, he wouldn't let go, I was going to give him one as he'd been generally ok until the aggressive begging for tips, but I said no, he didn't like it but then went on to harass someone else, Abdul was also trying to get my attention but after what I saw with the 2 girls there was no way he was getting a tip and I kept my hands in my pocket, swerved around him and jumped on the coach, it was a snapshot of morocco and confirmed to me that I would never go there again, I can't tell you how relieved I was to finally arrive back in spain

Not worth it - We spent at least 10 hours sitting on the bus or ferry and the walking part was rushing through the cold and uninviting old town of Tetouan. They held us at the border for two hours to check our passports twice. That was really annoying. In Tetouan we were seved bland food in a cold restaurant and then we were forced to listen to a long sales pitch for cosmetics in a „pharmacy“ with bogus claims about the healing powers of the products. The only saving grace were our two tour guides.

Day trip to Morocco - It seemed more like a sales meeting , we were tied to a person who determined the experiences of the day . No free time on the trip . A bus that collapsed due to poor maintenance We spent 19 hours 1 hour lunch arranged by the guide 1/2 hours free on a square that you didn't have to leave 2 hours of display of various products where the sellers were close to the guide. 3 hours walk in small streets without the possibility of buying or inspecting goods The remaining hours went with waiting time / transportation, and a bureaucratic border check. This is probably the worst thing we've tried in years. The tour was bought from TripAdvisor as a certain reseller or a close affiliate of visitanddo.com Who takes the practical It cannot be recommended From here

Take a pass on Tetouan. - Please don't buy into this whole UNESCO marketing hook. This tour consists of going through an unbearably stenchy market with filthy water running under your feet, then going through the 15th century old town/medina that is quite literally stuck behind in the 15th century by most standards. Once you're done with the old town and have eaten a lunch, they will take you to an antique store and then the local herbal pharmacy to get you buy their stuff. The tour is very long and in my honest opinion, not worth the time. Maybe other Moroccan towns are worthwhile seeing, you can easily pass on Tetouan.
