Unbelievable experience - Wow what an incredible experience. Hotel pick up and drop off , just over a two hour drive with beautiful scenery. On arrival everything is superbly organised, fantastic lunch (complimentary) in a beautiful setting then into your Safari bus. Bit bumpy in places but well worth it with a well informed ranger, it does get very hot so plenty of water/sunscreen .

Fun, fantastic, fabulous - A great day, travelling out to Acquilla, with a group of fellow tourists. We had a smooth journey and Acquilla was a great place when we got there. We really enjoyed it, thank you. And hope to return again some time in the future.

GREAT EXPERIENCE - Great experience. Rudy was a wonderful driver, the buffet was outstanding, and the safari portion was very cool and safe. We saw elephants , ostriches, giraffes, Zebras, rhinos, hippos, African buffalo, Springbok, and lions. The leopard are elusive and mostly come out at night, but we were pleased with what we saw The buffet was outstanding and the staff helpful and gracious .

To get acquainted with wildlife - Nice accommodation but I don't think it's a real wildlife park, then you really have to go to kruger. However, for a first introduction fine

Our experience at the... - Our experience at the reserve was great! We enjoyed seeing all the animals and the staff was friendly. However our driver Rudlin was rude. We didn’t know the hotel was closed due to renovations but it was the closest to our Airbnb on the list. I called the company and the female was polite and gave the driver our location. Once he arrived to us though he was rude.

Not a true reflection of their website! - We arrived with high expectations, as the website photos and descriptions looked great. We were very disappointed in our Karoo Cottage accommodation. Situated at the furthest point from the main hotel area and under some large eucalyptus trees, our cottage (they are all semi-detached) was dark and with no views. Birds in the trees were very noisy except between 12.00-5.00am and there was a lot of bird poo all around. Our veranda had graffiti all over the woodwork. The floor didn’t seem to have been cleaned. Our outdoor shower was at the front of the cottage and was under the trees with bird poo, leaves and twigs coming into it. There was no blind/curtain on the bathroom window/door. The corner bath was small and very dated. The bedroom furniture was old and tired and the bedroom very small. There was no TV and very little to do in the evenings after dinner. The lounge bar above the restaurant was nice but very quiet and with no atmosphere. TV channel music was the only entertainment on offer. There was nowhere to go for a walk apart from the short, dusty road to the main entrance. The park is miles from anywhere so going for a drive after dinner is pointless. The food was acceptable, similar to a 3* hotel. All meals were included in the price but drinks were extra. Breakfast coffee and juice was included. Food was buffet style with some catering for special dietary requirements. The restaurant was pleasant but tables were squashed too close together. Service was fine but staff didn’t smile much. The Spa area was good, nicely laid out and had good facilities. We thought the treatments were overpriced compared to Cape Town prices. The transport vehicles for the safari were very uncomfortable. The seats had no padding and were shallow. We were jostled around a lot on the bumpy tracks and had sore knees and backs after 2-3 hours. We saw lots of animals and the driver gave us interesting information. The animals had feeding areas and were gathered there for us to see them. It felt artificial rather than natural. We stayed for 2 nights which entitled us to 4 safaris. We did 2 of those, an afternoon and a morning one. We were glad to have done the morning safari as we saw the hippos out of the water and the buffalo at the watering hole. The morning safari was really cold. We were offered blankets, but would advise layers and jackets. A one night stay would have been sufficient, or even a day trip. We were offered to swap a safari for a horse ride but the horses looked sad and tired. The quad bike safari was an extra cost (about R600 each) which we were mislead to believe was included. Both the website and the reception staff are vague about this until you come to try and book it! We didn’t bother. We also didn’t bother with the eco-project tour.

Yawn... - If you have been to ANY other game park, skip this one! Very few animala and you don't get close to most. A zoo would have been better.
