Cades Cove Tour and Museum - The minute we walked up to the entrance we were greeted with smiling friendly faces. We started out with a guided tour through Cades Cove; Bruce, our driver and guide was awesome, very knowledgeable and great photographer! Even though we didn't see any bear, he showed some much beauty and history! We loved it, and will be going back soon. Then once we got back to Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, we went through the museum and thoroughly enjoyed that as well! Lots of history, looking forward to our next trip soon.

Worth your time - Spent a couple hours here on a rainy afternoon. The outdoor exhibits are fun, and the explanations of each building are well-written and descriptive. My favorite was seeing the basement still and watching the video to learn about making moonshine. The indoor displays were also interesting and educational. The 24-minute video was especially nice since the park doesn't have a video in the visitor centers. Very reasonable admission price. Highly recommend!

Multiple great visits. - We have made several visits to the Smoky mountain heritage center that this year. We have taken grandchildren to tour the historical exhibits in the museum. We have attended the antique car show. We have also attended several of the summer concerts. The one that's past weekend which was an Eagles music review was excellent. We always enjoy our trips to the Smoky mountain heritage center no matter the activity and considerate a wise use of our time and money.

Fascinating look at mountain life - This was an interesting look at the ingenuity and perseverance of the people who carved out a life in this area. We learned so much from the indoor museum and outdoor exhibits. The museum had lots of hands-on things for kids to do. It's a great place for families to come, and a nice gift shop, too.

Great little museum - Great museum. It is very quiet but it packs a punch. It tells stories from the Great Smoky Mountain area starting from it's earliest inhabitants. Lots of artifacts inside. Outside there are 14 buildings to explore, all local to the area and moved to the museum.

Surprised at how much there was to see! - I was surprised and delighted to find this spot so beautiful (you can’t see lot from the road) and fascinating. Wonderful information and glimpse into the rich heritage of this mountain community.

Definitely worth a visit. - The Heritage Center provides a great background on the people and culture that have inhabited the Smokey Mountains. The exhibitions about the Native people give a fairly thorough history of the early years of inhabitation. The 13 historic buildings give a better understanding how the more recent pioneers in the. Area lived. They total experience gives one a better appreciation of the people land history of the area.

Best place to learn about Smoky Mountain history - We did the bus tour with Mark on a Tuesday morning, and ended up being the only ones on the tour, which was excellent. Mark was very informative and enthusiastic about the area and the heritage. He knows many descendants of the original settlers, so told us of personal accounts handed down within the families. If you are at all interested in the history of the area, the Heritage Center and the tour are well worth doing. I think there were more informational signs at the Heritage Center than in the whole GSMNP. The museum and grounds admission are included in the tour price. I think they only do the tours on Tuesday and Thursday in the fall. Highly recommend.
