Snowshoeing Day 1

Turangi Information Centre - Participants will gather at either the Taupo or Turangi Customer and Information Centre. Here, introductions will be made and a gear check will be conducted to ensure everyone is well-prepared for the adventure ahead.

Tongariro National Park - Travel through the picturesque winter landscape of Tongariro National Park to reach the starting point of the trail.

Tongariro National Park - Set off on an unforgettable 3-hour snowshoeing journey to Waihohonu Hut, nestled in the untouched beauty of Tongariro National Park. Guided by experts, this immersive experience offers an ideal winter getaway, blending exciting outdoor exploration.

Waihohonu Hut - As evening falls, enjoy a meal in the cozy Waihohonu Hut, tucked away in Tongariro National Park.

Waihohonu Hut - Marvel at the night sky illuminated by stars. Tongariro is located in an area free from light pollution, providing exceptional stargazing opportunities. With Social Nature Movements’ specialized stargazing equipment, participants will view and learn about the stars.

Snowshoeing Day 2

Waihohonu Hut - Awaken surrounded by snow-capped mountains, enjoy a nutritious breakfast, and prepare for a day of exhilarating snowshoeing adventures.

Tongariro National Park - Participants will leisurely take in the stunning scenery as they snowshoe back towards the vehicle. Along the way, they will learn about the rich history of Tongariro National Park.

Turangi Information Centre - Upon reaching the vehicle after an unforgettable journey, participants will return to the trip’s starting point for final farewells. After departure, they will reflect on the incredible experience they have just had.
