- Trengereid - After traveling for just over 30 minutes, itâs time for a brief pause. We stop at the Trengereid viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the East Fjord and OsterĂžy island. Here, youâll find a small bakery and public restrooms. We will stay for 15 minutes, with a 45-minute drive to our next destination. On the way to SteindalsfossenâŠ

On the way to Steindalsfossen waterfall, we pass two more waterfalls, MĂžrkhĂžlsfossen and Fossenbratte. If the weather is favorable, we can make a quick photo stop.
- Steinsdalsfossen - Near Norheimsund, the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall is truly a sight to behold. You can walk behind it without getting wet, offering a unique view. Formed in 1699 when the river changed course, Steinsdalsfossen stands about 50 meters tall. A path leads behind the waterfall, providing access to the space between the rock face and the water, making it one of Norwayâs most visited waterfalls. Tourist information and public restrooms are available at the parking area. A short path over an old stone arch bridge leads to the waterfall. You can also relax at a charming cafĂ© behind the bridge, enjoying the sound of the rushing stream. We will spend 25 minutes here, with a 15-minute drive to our next stop.
- Oystese - Arriving in Ăystese around 12:15 PM, we will have our lunch break at Spildegarden Sider Farm (included). The lounge is cozy, with a fireplace and a stunning view of the Hardangerfjordâa quintessential Norwegian experience. If the farmer is available, he may offer a tour of the cider production process. For those interested, cider and other farm products are available for purchase. Weâll spend about an hour here before continuing, with a 45-minute drive to our next stop.
- Hardanger Fjord - After a scenic 45-minute drive along the beautiful Hardangerfjord, we reach the ferry terminal in Kvandal. This route passes idyllic villages, lush orchards, and breathtaking mountain backdrops framing the fjord.
Our ferry departs at 2:00 PM, with a 20-minute crossing. Onboard, modern amenities include clean restrooms and a small kiosk for snacks and beverages.
From the ferryâs upper deck, youâll capture incredible photosâthe views of majestic mountains and deep green water are spectacular. The gentle waves and wind in your hair make this ride unforgettable. Keep your camera ready and enjoy the fresh sea air as we head to the next part of our journey.
- Utne Hotel - The ferry docks in Utne, a picturesque village on the Hardangerfjord. Here, youâll find the Utne Hotel, established in 1722, the oldest continuously operating hotel in Norway. Nestled by the stunning fjord, this charming hotel offers a glimpse into the regionâs rich history and a cozy atmosphere for visitors. During our visit, weâll enjoy coffee and svele, included in the tour price. Itâs the perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.
- Hardangerfjord - The route from Utne to Jondal is a scenic drive along the Hardangerfjord on road 550. The distance between the two towns is about 36 km, and the drive takes approximately 35 minutes. Along this route, you feel like youâre driving through a blossoming orchard, with cherry and apple trees lining the road. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and admire the regionâs typical orchards. This trip is highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Norwayâs breathtaking nature. We will make photo stops as often as weather and time allow.

Herand - We pause in the village of Herand, stopping at a small marina beautifully situated on the Hardanger Fjord. There is a self-service kiosk and public washrooms.
The onward journey to the ferry quay in Jondal is only 15 minutes. - Jondal - The ferry from Jondal to TĂžrvikbygd departs promptly at 17:20. During this crossing, we traverse the main arm of the Hardangerfjord. Onboard, youâll find facilities including restrooms and a self-service cafĂ© for your convenience. The journey across the fjord takes a brief 20 minutes.
- TĂžrvikbygd - At 17:40, the ferry docks in TĂžrvikbygd. From here, we head directly to Bergen.
- Bergen - The drive back to Bergen takes approximately an hour and a half, with an estimated arrival at your hotel around 19:15. Most restaurants in Bergen close their kitchens by 21:00, giving you ample time to find a suitable place for dinner. We can drop you off directly at your hotel or any other location in the city center, depending on your preference.
