- Fort Granby - Fort Granby is a quaint and charming historic site located on Tobago’s southeast coast. Established around 1765, it stands as one of the island’s earliest British fortifications, originally safeguarding the former capital, Georgetown. Although only a few remnants of the fort remain today, the area is beautifully preserved and shaded by magnificent, intertwined trees, creating a serene, park-like ambiance. Visitors can view the gravestone of British soldier James Clark (1772) and enjoy breathtaking views over Barbados Bay and Pinfold Bay, making it an ideal spot for photography, a brief rest, or a picnic. Quiet, scenic, and easily accessible, Fort Granby is a delightful stop for those interested in Tobago’s history and coastal scenery.
- Fort King George - This hilltop fort combines breathtaking ocean and city views with a touch of Tobago’s military and colonial history. At Fort King George, visitors can explore the prison and officers’ mess, as well as the charming Tobago Museum housed in the former barrack guardhouse. The Tobago Museum showcases weapons and pre-Columbian artifacts discovered in Scarborough, along with old Tobago maps and photographs. Outside the historic buildings, visitors can find several cannons and expansive views of Scarborough Bay.
Please note that tickets to the museum are not included in the tour price.
- Argyle Waterfall - This delightful nature trail leads to the first level of the falls and a beautiful 18-foot deep swimming lagoon. For an additional fee, a guide can be hired if desired. With three levels, the waterfall’s thunderous sound is heard long before it is seen. The height of the first cascade conceals the true beauty of Argyle’s upper levels. Adventurous visitors can hike up a bushy path on the right side to the second level, where they are greeted by a thick mist. At this level, one can relax in several natural rock tubs and let the water flow over them. Finally, at the third pool, though the smallest, it is the deepest and best for swimming, inviting visitors to dive, jump, or swing into the water from available vines.
