The direction taken will depend on the evening’s weather: clouds can obscure the aurora, so the priority is to find clear skies. If necessary, the journey may even cross the border into Finland!

Important: Weather forecasts for Tromsø are not a reason to cancel the tour: the sky above the city does not reflect the conditions in the areas where the auroras are sought. The goal is to leave Tromsø to find clear skies. If there are any doubts about the weather, please contact the operator before canceling your reservation.

• Troms - Once the perfect spot is found, a peaceful location away from other groups and artificial lights will be chosen. Waiting is part of the experience: the aurora might appear after a few minutes or after two hours. To keep spirits high while waiting, a campfire will be made, hot soup and chocolate will be shared around the fire, and the operator will share all the secrets of this natural phenomenon. In winter, temperatures range from +5 °C to -30 °C, so thermal suits will be provided for everyone.

If you have a camera, the operator will show you how to set it up to best capture the aurora. Professional photos will also be taken, ensuring you have an unforgettable memory of this magical night.

• Troms - It’s important to remember that nature is unpredictable: sometimes, though rarely, the sky may remain cloudy or solar activity may be low. However, sometimes just 20 minutes of clear skies are enough to witness an incredible display. With the operator’s knowledge of the local climate and advanced weather tools, every effort will be made to be in the right place at the right time.

Nights without the Aurora are rare, but they do occur. Therefore, it’s important to remember that the Aurora can never be guaranteed 100%.

The tour’s duration will depend on how long it takes to find the right conditions. Sometimes, a 30-minute drive is enough; other times, a true aurora hunt is needed, exploring a wider area to find a starry sky. Regardless of the night, an unforgettable adventure is promised!

• Emportez votre passeport au cas où il serait nécessaire de franchir la frontière avec la Finlande.
• Pour garantir un environnement confortable pour tous les participants, il est interdit de fumer à tout moment pendant l’excursion, même lors des pauses à l’extérieur du véhicule. Même une cigarette rapide en plein air peut imprégner vestes et gants, et dans un espace restreint comme un minivan cela peut provoquer un fort inconfort pour les autres participants.
