A beautiful night! - It was a beautiful experience. Reindeer are lovely!! We had a chance to see the northern light by the bonfire! The warm soup and bread was also very good. I learned a lot about Sami culture.

A Nice Experience to End Our Trip to the Tromso, Norway area. - This was really a fun experience to end our four-day trip to the Tromso, Norway area. It was fun hanging out and feeding the tremendous number of reindeer at this Sami ranch which has 200+ reindeer. The Sami people are most welcoming and hospitable. They enjoyed providing us with historical information about their people which was most appreciated. Our evening was complete after having a bowl of reindeer or vegetable soup. Transport to the site was via a bus.

Going up close with the reindeer is a great experience. - Going up close with the reindeer is a great experience. Reindeer stew is also an interesting experience. Listening to or understanding the Sami was not always easy, but it went. The chance to watch the Northern Lights was there, but when it got interesting we should go back to the cabin and she told us a lot about the life of the Sami. After that we had 10 minutes to shop in the souvenir shop, go to the toilet or see the aurora borealis. It would have been nice to just have more time here - more flexible time allocation?

Lacks authenticity - I would give this experience an average rating, as the whole thing was a bit touristy. We were promised a small group tour at the time of booking, but later found that they are taking two large busses full of people to the same spot. The trip was supposed to be about knowing Sami culture, but we met only one Sami lady. I am not sure that the experience can be termed authentic.

Lots of reindeer! - Lots of reindeers! We didn’t expect them all to be marked and they were definitely not keen on being touched. We didn’t the evening tour so lighting was definitely not the greatest in certain areas but otherwise we did get to spend a good amount of time w the reindeer. The reindeer stew was great!

Closed encounters with reindeer and Sami people - Get an experience feeding reindeers at close counters. Listened to an episode of Sami history by the Sami people itself. Not able to see Northern light due to bad weather

No recommendation, Viator please check - We were quite upset by this tour. Unfortunately. We experienced the reindeers very stressed and this stress was ping ponging between the animals and the tourists. The animals were actually fighting about the food and didn't seem to have any respect for humans and were very greedy. On the tour we'd been told, the reindeers were wild, but we had more the impression of very spoilt domestics. Once, they also overran a little girl, when they paniced. The staff around didn't seem to be neither surprised nor interested. Also the staff didn't pay attention to protect the animals from inapropriate tourists. That was an experience we didn't like at all. Afterwards we got into a shelter, were we'd been served with snacks, hot drinks and a tasty vegetarian soup. We liked that. Then later was some Saami lesson. It was said for this tour that the guide is able to speak English. I therefore awaited a fluent speaker or someone knowing the needed vocabular, minimum. Maybe it was just a starter we had, but the person explaining the Saami culture did so in a very basic English, used a lot of "ehms" and breaks searching for words. That made it hard to follow and we didn't understand all. A pity. She seemed to feel uncomfortable and insecure, too. We honestly recommend to not do this tour, to choose one instead with smaller groups and teams that were paying attention to the animals needs and safety. Fingers crossed for comfortable English. What really bothered us is that we were told that the Saami are very connected to nature and take care that everything was treated with respect - however the food and drinks were served in take away dishes with plastic spoons. Even paper cups.. Overall the pricing was too high for too little value - it felt like a touristy rip off.. Viator, please check on this. It was just a short sneak view we had, but we worry about this.
