Definitely Recommend - This was 10/10 the best time. It was incredible to see all the reindeer and be able to be so close to them! The meal they serve is so delicious and the story time after feeding was also very informative and culturally immersive. I definitely recommend this experience!

Do not miss this, even if you are not a special fan of reindeer - This was one of the best excursions i have ever been on. Beautifully and sensitively run, plenty of guides who were friendly and willing to answer even the silliest questions (mine). Extremely well organized. Efficient. Welcoming. Tiny gift shop with veeeery expensive mementos, but then again, when else are you going to do this? Lunch was very tasty…a whole grain roll would not have been a bad addition to the reindeer stew. I did feel a bit conflicted about eating the reindeer when i had just met them, but that is me. The highlight was, of course, the reindeer. What an amazing truly heartfelt and touching experience.. reindeer energy is something I have never experienced before and it was wonderful. The reindeer were friendly and anxious to get the goodies and snacks that we were feeding them, but they also accepted petting and seemed quite interested when I at least spoke to them.. of course I was saying nice things like oh you’re beautiful and who doesn’t want to hear that? But still, they were magnificent, warm, friendly, approachable, and yet so different creatures. It was an experience that was truly unforgettable and I’m so glad that this tour group made the experience available.. Having said that I really appreciated the talk afterwards that explained how this particular tour scheme came into being , It was a way to raise money to keep the reindeer to feed them and keep them healthy. Issues with warmer winters were also explained, and how that impacted the herd and how tours like this which are low impact done in small groups can help with our kroner to fund the reindeer herd. I would have gladly bone to a second galk, perhaps one more on the Sami language and culture, and enjoyed a second mingling with the reindeer, but i will always treasure what i did have. There was plenty of time to spend with the herd…i am just greedy! Thank you to Daniel and his family and cousins for running this wonderful experience.

Do Not Miss This One! - This was one of the best run events of its type i have ever been on. Kudos to the multi lingual staff too! Organized, efficient, and our Sami guide and speaker Daniel was AMAZING! It was wonderful to be able to get right in amongst the reindeer, and feed them, and pet them, and interact. Talking with the guides was great too. So lnowledgeable and friendly! Lunch was delicious even though i felt badly eating reindeer since i had just met them! The gift shop was tiny and really expensive. But then again, this is a once in a lifetime moment so mementos are precious. Just wonderful all around!

Beautiful experience - Fantastic experience! The reindeer are very cute though a few may be on the slightly aggressive side because they’re a little greedy with food. The view of the mountains and water in the background was phenomenal. After the reindeer feeding, we went into a hut for some storytelling. This storytelling was primarily reindeer herding focused rather than about Sami culture. I loved the guide’s enthusiasm for reindeer herding and his description of what it’s like was very detailed and beautiful. The storytelling may be a bit much for those who aren’t interested in these kinds of things but if you enjoy this kind of detailed storytelling, it’s wonderful to listen to. Absolutely would recommend! Watch out for the poop on the ground though!

A glimpse into Sami life - Beautiful and educational experience of Sami culture! We fed reindeer, ate reindeer stew, and sat on reindeer furs in a tipi as we learned about the Sami people’s history of the reindeer.
