An amazing day - It's an excursion worth it, the scenery is beautiful!
With special morning light.
We waited for the whales 1h on the deck (frozen to death) but it was worth it we have the incredible chance to see some!

A Magical Arctic Adventure: Whale Watching, Northern Lights, and Stunning Fjords in Tromsø - An unforgettable experience. On the early morning of the 27th of January we went down to Tromsø harbour and boarded the Brim Explorer expedition, Bee, Lucas, and Ivan were our guides for the day and provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a well pitched level of information throughout.
We were well bundled up against the cold (better so than many of those on board) and so we were able to take advantage of the outdoor decks almost continuously throughout the day. The fjord was stunning and I believe that even if we had not seen whales we would likely have been delighted with the trip as we passed the Lingen Alps.
We were fortunate enough to see two rather shy hump backed whales, who moved about between us and some other whale watching tours. Then, a little way onwards we saw a lone orca cutting through the waters. At this point (sadly) I felt very seasick and had to sit inside for a little while, but even so my partner and I had a superb view of the orca. The trip back was pleasant and we were even lucky enough to catch sight of the Northern Lights shortly before re-entering Tromsø.
On the way back the crew provided a well organised informational lecture on the whales and their differences as well as on the displays of altruism shown by hump backed whales.
As far as it could be controlled by human participants the crew were fantastic and I really couldn't applaud them more.
If you're in Tromsø and looking for a whale watching tour, this is an excellent one to go for.

To be redone - We took a ride in January 2025, the crew was very kind and funny when he spoke on board. The crew paid attention to our safety when the waves were stronger.
We didn’t have the chance to see the whales but had a good time on board with beautiful scenery.
We definitely re-enter the experience!

Once in a lifetime experience! - A great way to see the Norway fjords and see some whales too! We saw orca and humpback whales. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and the crew was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend putting this on your itinerary!

Great whale watching trip - We had a great time on this boat trip. We were able to see the arctic circle, fjords, lots of orcas and even some fin whales too. This was a unique experience and one I’d highly recommend.

No whales but stunning scenery and great staff - First tip! Make sure you provide your details to the company well in advance - without doing so, you’re going to be queuing to do this manually. And why is that important? Tip two. The boats are very very busy and the seats fill up fast. Get there very early - at least 30 minutes. We ended up crammed in on middle seats with limited views, and we got there 20 minutes early. You will likely be sitting next to people, so the two seaters are the best seats. Next tip. The arctic waters can get very choppy - sitting upstairs will probably be worse and make sure you take seasick tablets. We saw a number of people being sick. Next tip, this is a very loooong trip - take entertainment, food, and drinks. The staff are brilliant- so enthusiastic and entertaining, the boat is very modern with lots of outside viewing (wrap up warm!!!). Bottomless coffee is a great buy but the meal included was only soup and bread! We spent ages looking for whales but none there - it was only then we were told this was to be expected at the end of the season and we’d have been better to go in November (ouch!) - I think they should have been upfront about this. That said, the scenery is absolutely stunning! I would have still gone. Be prepared and enjoy!

A whale watching trip - with NO whales - Had such high hopes for this trip, reviews on FB has said in the days before we went that there were dozens if not hundreds of whales to be seen. Departed 20 mins late as the electrical systems had a problem, then the seas were pretty rough so a number of people got ill around us. Got to the area where we were to expect whales at around midday only to find that it was empty - didn't see a single whale on the whole trip! The journey back was ridiculously bad, 20-30 people throwing up around us was bad enough but at one point I was tossed against another table hurting my back. Then we had to pause at one point as an American passenger had a panic attack and passed out so we had to wait for him to be winched away by helicopter! I'm proud to say that as a true Englishman I was totally accustomed to the sea and therefore felt fine during the entire journey (after all Britannia rules the waves)

Not worth it. - Poor crowd management, no assigned seating. People hogged big tables with their coats and stuff. Be warned it is 3+ hours of sailing to the whale watching grounds, then 30 mins of maybe seeing some fins in the far distance, and another 3+ hours of sailing back. The seas are pretty rough and plenty of people threw up. The staff are lovely but the company really needs to sell fewer tickets per boat to ensure the reasonable comfort of your passengers!
