The main part of the tour will be spent outside Tromsø. Our favorite spots are all located by the seaside, a sea that never freezes in the north of Norway due to the Golf current. The seawater is warmer than the air most of the winter, and there are people crazy enough to go for a swim. If the weather is cloudy along the coast, we head for the inland and the mountains. The variety is what makes northern lights hunting fun, and we never know where we end up durinng the evening.
The big advantage in Tromsø is that we have plenty of locations to choose from, and roads leading in all directions. We will go to wherever is safest and most likely for guests to see the Northern Lights – sometimes that is 30 min outside the city, and on other days all the way to the border with Finland roughly 2,5 hours drive from Tromsø.

This intimate group tour spans 5-6 hours. During months when the evenings are dark, the tour seeks clear skies in the Tromsø area. The adventure begins at 7 p.m./19:00, with the journey taking us in various directions to escape the city lights.
On some occasions, the destination is nearby, allowing for more outdoor enjoyment, while other times require a more dedicated “hunt” to find what we seek. Although sightings are common, there are no guarantees as this is a natural occurrence.
Throughout the evening, multiple stops are made to observe the lights, which sometimes appear directly overhead. If conditions allow, a longer stop is made to enjoy a bonfire, a pre-prepared meal (a portion of soup or stew), and a hot beverage.
This is a genuine small group tour, accommodating a maximum of 6 guests per tour this season.
