The journey proceeds along the Nid River, showcasing the vibrant warehouses. Next, the tour heads to Bakklandet, one of the town’s oldest areas, known for its charming wooden architecture. Bakklandet is also home to the world’s only bicycle lift. The tour then crosses the famous old town bridge, featuring “The Portal of Happiness,” and arrives at Nidaros Cathedral, a national monument of Norway. This cathedral is built over the tomb of St. Olav, the patron saint of Norway. The tour continues to the Market Square (Torget), where a statue of Viking King Olav Tryggvason, the city’s founder, stands proudly above the lively square. The next stop is Stiftsgården, the royal residence, followed by a pass by the Britannia Hotel before returning to the harbor.
