First Time to Chichen Itza and Cenote - Kudos to Hector who is a great tour guide and his assistant Roberto. The journey is long but we enjoyed the story and magical history conveyed by Hector. He is truly an amazing story teller. Roberto made sure we are fed, hydrated and organized! It made our trip a breeze. Our driver Portifino was an excellent driver who took us back and forth safely. Thank you for making our trip memorable.

Waste of money - Atmosphere was amazing, staff was so so especially when i was pulled a side by our tour guide Jerry and told I did not pay for our tour. Charged over 300 pesos for a juice and a water along with the buffet not being self serve and having very stingy portions we had to go back multiple times to get a decent size plate of food, not only that but the “market” was just a pure tourist trap, when we finally finished shopping we where givin an outrageous price for 4 items that wouldnt cost over 80 dollars for 300 dollars 3900 pesos, we realized we couldn’t afford any of it and had wasted the majority of our time shopping for things that have a imaginary price on them and had to leave it behind!(not only that but they keep changing the price when we told them that we could not afford 300 dollars for a coffee mug, bracelet, one single crystal, and a small wall decor) the whole point we went on this tour was so we could navigate and communicate easily but we found ourselves having huge miscommunications with staff constantly. If you want to go see these beautiful places i recommend skipping these tours all together and renting a car or bus it’ll save you money and time especially when you arrive and want to wander. Would not recommend to anybody

Chichen Itza Superb Tour Operator not so! - I Have rated this 1 star However Carlos from this company doesn’t even deserve any stars and it won’t allow me to process the review without a star rating. Chichen Itza 5 Star all day. Let me start by saying when we booked this tour with a third party I asked if it was possible if we could have a front seat due to me suffering terribly with motion sickness on long coach travels. The third party paid extra monies from his own pocket to help make this happen. Pick up from the hotel was smooth and our third-party agent even came to our hotel to meet us at 7:20 a.m. to speak to the taxi driver and request a front row seat which I got on the minibus to the actual meeting point. This is the point when things didn’t go very well. Met Mary and Carlos with our minibus driver who requested a front seat for me, I explained about my serious motion sickness, however the pair of them wasn’t happy about the request. Carlos said English at the back Spanish at the front. Why? Carlos said so he can speak in English better with all of us together, absolute rubbish, in totally honesty he was annoyed that I requested afront seat. Thankfully they did put me and my hubby on seat 5 & 6, from this point on Carlos became RUDE and very ARROGANT, he stared to have a shout out to all the different countries and when he got to England he totally blanked us, you couldn’t hear the small amount of English speaking at the back. He did talk about the day ahead in both Spanish and English. When we got to the Mayan community Mary was constantly speaking in Spanish explaining some ritual of facts, I asked Carlos who was supposed to be fluent in English to translate what Mary was saying, he literally snapped at me, a paying customer for asking him to translate to English. Carlos hardly told us anything at the first section about these lithium stones etc. The Mayan community is a tourist trap and all they want sadly is your money, when you don’t buy or tip, they get moody! They want tips at every opportunity to much in fact. Waiting in the shop or outside of the shop for 30 mins is far too long especially when you don’t buy anything plus its expensive. It’s cheaper at the airport if you did want to buy anything. At Lunch there was 8 English speaking on our table, and we all discussed how rude Carlos was and the fact that he was not translating into English. We then went to Chichen Itza and this is where Carlos once again showed his nasty self, it’s quite a walk from the coach to the actual entrance and when we got there Mary was speaking Spanish and Carols didn’t say anything in English, we were at the front of everybody and they start two form two cues as they were hand out tickets to get in. Mary told us we were in the wrong que and when we side stepped over to the other que Carlos told us to go to the back out it, My hubby told him he was taking the mick. Once inside Chichen Itza the English speaking of us was passed over to another tour guide (thank God) and this was the highlight of our holiday our tour guide was absolutely fabulous his knowledge was unbelievable he was amazing, and we generously tipped him (sadly I cannot remember his name sorry). Next Stop was the Cenote which was ok. The last stop was the small village bit pointless but ok. On the way back hubby and I laughed, Mary who was in the seat in front of us fell hard and fast asleep and snored very loudly all the way back, I don’t pay to go on a trip and have one of the organizer's fall asleep she is supposed to be working, yes it’s a very long day but my hubby and I both work 12 hour days and we can’t’ fall asleep on the job. When we were nearing the drop off points back at the hotels, this when Carlos came into his own and really started with the English-speaking part of the day, begging and I mean begging for tips it was embarrassing, even to the point that when the customers were exiting the coach he was reminding them about tipping. My Hubby and me are big tippers, anyway due to the arrogance of Carlos and Mary falling asleep and the lack of information in the Mayan community we declined giving a tip which is sad because Oscar and the driver where great, but they all share the same tip. The trip was far too long picked up at 7:20 a.m. arrived back at 10 p.m. would have just preferred a single trip to Chichen Itza and spent more time there.
