Djerba Ajim - Explore locations where some Star Wars scenes were filmed:
-
Stormtrooper checkpoint: Where Ben and Luke were checked by stormtroopers (“These are not the droids you are looking for.”); the location is challenging to recognize due to changes made by the film crew.
-
The Cantina of Chalmun: Similar to above, the site is barely recognizable, especially since the building (a traditional Berber bakery) is in a state of disrepair. It was also at risk of being replaced by modern buildings, sparking an international movement to preserve it.
-
Flight of the Millennium Falcon: The location is a few blocks south of the “stormtrooper checkpoint” and is somewhat difficult to locate, but more easily identifiable.
-
(House of Ben - Episode IV): Located 3 km north of Ajim, on the coastal road to Sidi Jemour, is the old fisherman’s house used in April 1976 to film Ben Kenobi’s house during his exile on Tatooine. It has become a popular “pilgrimage” site and is regularly maintained.

Sidi Jemour Mosque - Visit locations where some Star Wars scenes were filmed:
-
Anchorhead (“Toshi station”): This deleted scene consists of two parts: the Toshi station and the interaction between Luke and Biggs. They can be found here.
-
The arrival at Mos Eisley: Note that this scene, like many in Mos Eisley, has undergone numerous changes with the Trilogy’s evolutions (Special Edition and DVD).
