Into the Heart of the Galaxy

As a seasoned adventurer, I’ve trekked across some of the most challenging terrains on Earth, but nothing quite prepared me for the surreal experience of stepping into the world of Star Wars in the heart of Tunisia. The Star Wars Film Set Tour promised an unforgettable journey through iconic film locations, and it delivered in spades.

Our guide, Mustafa, was a beacon of knowledge and enthusiasm. His passion for the Star Wars saga was infectious, and his stories brought the desert landscapes to life. We began our journey in the Mides Valley, known to fans as the ‘Star Wars Canyon.’ As we hiked through the rugged terrain, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline, reminiscent of my days scaling cliffs and navigating treacherous paths. His commitment was especially poignant as he postponed his iftar during Ramadan to ensure we didn’t miss this highlight. It was a gesture that spoke volumes about his passion and dedication.

Our final stop was the Chott El Jerid, home to the igloo of the Lars Family Homestead exterior. Standing there, I could almost hear the iconic Star Wars theme playing in the background. The vast salt flats stretched out before us, a stark contrast to the bustling streets of Mos Espa.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the desert, I reflected on the day’s adventures.
