Wonderful bird and wildlife tour - My husband and I had a wonderful day at Reserva de la Cienaga with our knowledgable guide, Maicol. My target species was a ferruginos pygmy owl, which we were lucky to see right at the start of the tour. We saw just over 80 different birds and some interesting wildlife including red howler monkeys and a cotton-top tamarin. We had a wonderful breakfast by the water, including fresh fruit and coffee. The trails are mostly flat and there are bathrooms on site. I highly recommend a tour with this company, it was easy to book and the communication was great. Overall an excellent day!

WELL worth the price, would return!! - I couldn't be happier with this tour, we saw over 60 species, which well exceeded my expectations! Luis is an expert at finding birds and his knowledge is extensive, he also speaks english very well which made it easier for this Canadian. What a wonderful time, in this private nature reserve. They provided a delicious breakfast in a beautiful location as well. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Private Birding on a Private Reserve - This was an amazing experience. Although we had to get up early, it was completely worth it. My wife and I were the entire group for this tour. The company picked us up at our hotel, and 40 minutes later we arrived at the finca as the sun was coming up and were provided with coffee from Maria, who lived and worked there. Our guide Maicol was wonderful. He had an amazing knowledge of local birds, their calls, and behavior. We spent 2 hours walking around the grounds before a fantastic breakfast. Maicol pointed out dozens of birds, knew their usual spots, and founds some birds that he didn’t usually see. After breakfast we spent another 2 hours exploring different areas to see some completely new birds. Maicol took photos which were shared with us, so we did not have to do anything but enjoy the moment. We would highly recommend this tour.

Great birding in Matute and Cienaga Farm - Thank you Luis Felipe for sharing your experience during the visits to Matute and Cienaga Farm.
We saw 137 different species of birds in 2 outings and learned a lot about Colombia and Cartagena at the same time.

Birding whith Luis at Finca la Cienaga and Matute Birding Nature - We had the pleasure of spending two days with Luis. The first at Reserva Finca la Ciena and the second at Matute Birding Nature Reserve. We saw 123 different bird species, in addition to monkeys and sloths.
Luis is an excellent guide who enjoys birdwatching as much as we do. Guiding birdwatchers doesn't seem to be a job for him.
He is also a very friendly person who can be a great source of information about the region during the drives to the sites.
I highly recommend him, whatever your goals.

Treat yourself - take this tour - you will not regret for a second. - The nature reserve was absolutely as advertised - we arrived early in the morning after pick up at our hotel. From the moment we pulled onto the property we heard and saw various birds - we hiked into a farm and were greeted by the owner and his wife - fabulous warm people and were made to feel at home. The rest of the morning we hiked the grounds and wildlife, monkeys were spotted and various birds Overall it was a very worthwhile adventure and money well spent.

Wonderful experience!! - Luis did a wonderful job of finding & identifying birds. The private ranch/ reserve we went to served a delicious breakfast in a lovely setting by a lake. And on the way back to Cartegena, he stopped on the side of the highway whenever he spotted interesting birds. I picked up several new lifers just by doing that!

Birds Galore ! - This was an absolutely great experience that ended up lasting the whole day.
We left Cartagena , headed towards Santa Marta, and wandered a 47 hectare marshy area where birds and wildlife were active.
It was an early start to make sure we took advantage of the cooler day when the birds were most active. And we saw so many birds - about 90 different species!
Our guide Luis was excellent - he was an endless source of knowledge about birds, the area, and Columbia.
This was a fabulous day, and we would recommend it highly.

Amazing birding trip! - The private bird tour with Luis was excellent. As a big birder for many years, I had so much to learn from him about birding! We saw over 70 birds species (I can’t remember the exact number on the top of my head, although Luis sent a list of everything we saw.) including a roseate spoonbill, pygmy owl, and toucan. I recommend this tour for anyone. There was a free breakfast and the tour was on a gorgeous farm estate. The farm also had two rescued monkeys! It was great to spend so much time in nature searching for birds! Take a look at my photos!
