- Tirta Empul Temple - Situated in the village of Manukaya, near Tampaksiring and close to Ubud in the Gianyar Regency, the Tirta Empul Holy Water Temple is a significant cultural site in Bali. Positioned just below the Presidential Palace of Tampaksiring, which was constructed in 1957 by Indonesia’s first president, Soekarno, the palace itself is a notable landmark of both the island and the nation. Together with the Presidential Palace, the Tirta Empul Holy Water Temple offers some of the most captivating views imaginable.
As a petirtaan or bathing center, Tirta Empul is a sizable temple complex, requiring at least 30 minutes to an hour to fully explore. Similar to other temples and sacred sites on the island, visitors must wear a ‘sarong’ before entering. Sarongs are available for rent at the temple’s entrance for a small donation.

Ubud and beautiful country - We scheduled a tour for two couples. We had a private driver who spoke good English. Esa picked us up from the cruise port in Bali and drove us to the Monkey Forest, where we saw a lot of monkeys. We went to the rice terrace and took more pictures. Then we went to the Tirta Empul temple, very large and beautiful. We stopped at a nice restaurant with good local food at reasonable prices. Then he took us to one of the coffee plantations so I could buy special Indonesian coffee for a friend who didn't buy it the day before.
Esa was wonderful throughout the trip. He is an exceptional driver, getting us safely through crazy traffic. Thank you Esa, we want to schedule a tour with you next year!

Amazing Tour with Esa!! - This is one of the best tours we have ever taken. Esa was an amazing guide, very informative, friendly, showed us all the great photo spots & took a ton of photos of us. We especially appreciated his good driving with the challenging traffic! We saw everything we wanted at a pace that allowed for admiring all there was to see. We highly recommend this tour & Esa as a guide. It really couldn’t have been better & not rushed to return to our Cruise ship! Don’t miss this chance to see the best of Bali!!

Great half day Ubud tour - Esa was a great driver for my 1/2 day excursion to Ubud, the car was clean, air conditioned and he was a safe and steady driver in the crazy Bali traffic. He did a wonderful job explaining Balinese culture, significant structures and pointed out many things along our route.

Ubud with Esa - I did a half day with Esa from Seminyak yo Ubud. I had an awesome day with visits to the Monkey Forest, Coffee Plantation and Temple at Sebatu.
Esa was amazing; a polite gentleman who drove very well from Ubud to Seminyak to collect me. So grateful for his patience with driving and a fabulous photographer also for me. 🙏🏼

Deserves ten stars! - Excellent experience. Deserves ten stars! Esa, our guide and driver, is a very nice, polite and knowledgeable young man and we felt perfectly at ease in his company. We packed a lot into the six hours we were together but never felt rushed or under pressure yet he ensured that we were back at the ship by the time we’d stipulated even using his knowledge of the area to take back roads to avoid traffic congestion. He took photos of us at various points of interest and answered all our questions fully and with patience. Can’t recommend Esa and this experience highly enough.

Deserves ten stars! - We had the most amazing time with the lovely Esa, a charming and knowledgeable young man who drove us around in absolute comfort in an air conditioned vehicle. He communicated well with us at every stage so we were confident that he would be there to meet us at the appointed time, which he was. He managed to hit just the right note between imparting interesting information and having periods of quiet without the silence feeling uncomfortable. We fitted a lot into the six hours we were with him but didn’t feel rushed at any point. Yet he was meticulous about getting us back to the ship by the time we’d stipulated, using his local knowledge to avoid traffic congestion which just added to the enjoyment as there was so much of interest to see along the way. We were very impressed and cannot recommend Esa enough. We’d give him ten stars if we could!

Awesome driver and guide - Maha is the absolute best! We loved our tour with him and he truly made our Bali experience. We are so happy we got him as our guide. He was very patient, kind, knowledgeable and very accommodating. A pleasure to spend the half day with. He also made the most excellent rec to do the water purification ceremony at a less crowded temple. We wish we had listened to him from the get go as the popular Tirta empul had crazy lines and was way too crowded. We decided not to do the water ceremony there after seeing the lines and were still able to stop at a quieter temple per his suggestion. He was very accommodating. His rec was much more beautiful and peaceful, and we had the most magical experience there. We would definitely hire him again in a heartbeat and would recommend this tour to anyone. The car was also very roomy and comfortable. Maha provided water bottles and umbrellas for the rain. He also held all our belongings and took photos. He very much went above and beyond. What a gracious and accommodating guide he is!

best place and best driver - really good places to see and lovely people for a really good price and the driver Maha Mananda Manuaba was the best explaining culture, place and meaning and make it a lot of more interesting. 😀
