- Cordillera del Arcoiris Palccoyo - The city of Cusco once again reveals another stunning natural wonder, “The Rainbow Mountain Range of Palccoyo.” Visitors can marvel at the vibrant beauty and colors of the region, as well as the diverse flora and fauna that this magnificent place offers.
This attraction is relatively new, and many locals were unaware of the Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain Range, as it was previously covered by snow, hiding its colors. However, due to global warming, the snow has melted, and now, with our new excursion, it is possible to visit the Palccoyo Rainbow Range (Combapata).
- Checacupe - Upon reaching Checacupe, visitors will witness the evolution of the road system through three colonial bridges located in the town: the Incan Bridge, the Colonial Bridge, and the Republican Bridge. Additionally, there is a colonial temple featuring exquisite wood carvings, gold leaf, and paintings from the Cusco school (Diego Quispe).
After exploring this archaeological center, the journey continues to the Rainbow Mountain Range of Palccoyo, situated at 4,900 meters above sea level.
- Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain - Upon arrival, a 40-minute walk begins, allowing visitors to admire the valleys of eroded glaciers and the brilliant colors of the Permian formations, home to alpacas and llamas.
Visitors can also observe some communities and farmers residing in the lower areas of the Rainbow Mountain Range of Palccoyo. The Ccacca Loma stone forest and the red mountain are also highlights.
Continuing the tour of the Rainbow Mountain Range of Palccoyo, the next stop is San Pedro for a delightful buffet lunch.
After enjoying lunch, the tour proceeds to the circuit of the four lagoons, where visitors can observe the different lakes (Acopia, Pomacanchis, Posposqo Cocha, Misky Cocha) and have ample time to appreciate the variety of birds and the surrounding landscape.
- Plaza San Francisco - After this wonderful tour and visiting the Rainbow Mountain Range of Palccoyo, the return to the city of Cusco is scheduled, arriving at approximately 6:30 p.m.
