A perched monastery and multicolored hills - This was a really fun hike. Our guide Nini is a sunny girl, always with a smile on her face and ready to share everything she knows about the place you are visiting. David Gareji Monastery is exciting, intimate and scenic. The rainbow mountains are amazing, they look like a painter's painting! I highly recommend this excursion!!!

- We actually did three tours with Friendly.ge: to David Gareji, to Kazbegi, and a walking tour of old Tbilisi (they had a discounted deal to do all three). Rather than write separate reviews, I'll cover all three here. In short, this is an excellent company offering creative, well-structured, properly supported tours with knowledgeable and engaging guides. Our three guides - Jonah, Gio and Oksana - went over and above to share what they know. Importantly, I never once got the feeling that they were simply going through the motions; they seemed genuinely passionate about what they were telling us. And they shared something of themselves and their stories too, which added to the experience because it connects what you see with the lived experience of the people in that place. Then there was our driver for two of the tours, also Gio, proud of his roots in Svaneti, wicked sense of humor and just really good fun to share time with. So, yes, part of the joy of this tour is down to the people running it and the unique angle they bring to these tours. I shouldn't forget to mention Ana, who was organizing from the office and who I never met, but she couldn't have been any more efficient or friendly. In terms of the tours themselves, they make some effort to get away from the well-grooved tourist routes by using the 4x4 to reach more remote places. We loved it, but it can be a bit of a white-knuckle ride in places, and not for the faint of heart. Groups were small - 4-6 people in the 4x4 van each day, and just three of us on the walking tour, which helped make things feel more intimate and personal. If we were doing this again (which we might!) we'd change/add just two things: 1. The Kazbegi tour is a long day of driving. If you only have a day, then go for it, but if you can spare more time and a bit more cash, I would highly recommend that you do one of the multi day tours to the Northern regions. If it were me I'd do the Svaneti tour after listening to our driver, Gio, waxing lyrical about his homeland! 2. We'd do the Soviet/Brutalism tour. Jonah, our guide on the David Gareji tour, is a deep well of sophisticated knowledge about the Soviet era in Georgia. We only scraped the surface on that tour and it was truly fascinating, so I would definitely recommend trying it if that's something that interests you. Hopefully that helps? This is a great company with excellent people running well-planned, energetic, memorable tours. I think you'd struggle to equal what they're offering trying to do it on your own - the guides just bring so much unique perspective and narrative to the experience - and for what they're asking I thought it was incredibly good value.

Nice day trip away from Tbilisi - Hot day. The hike did have some slippery spots, can can be difficult for clumsy or uncoordinated people like me. The Monasteries were very enlightening.

Natural beauty, rich history, superb guide - This was my second time on this tour with Friendly.ge, and I recommend it highly. The tour is rich with natural beauty and history, and our guide, Salome, was superb! At age 20, she had the passion and knowledge of someone two or three times her age. This time, I took a friend along, and she loved it as well.

David Gareji and Real Rainbow Mountains Off-Road adventure + hike-PRIVATE TOUR - This is an excellent off-road tour out of Tbilisi. Easy booking, short response times, Ana was excellent. We really enjoyed our private tour with our tour guide Nini & driver . Our guide, Nini, was super intelligent, very attentive, informative and knowledgeable with positive energy, and shared not only stories about the sites we visited but also the history behind them, facts about the economy, the lives of the people, recommendations on what, where and when to visit. Perfectly organized, profound information about Georgia, its history, & geology. The hike through the Rainbow mountains was one of a kind and apart from being on the adventurous side, it was breathtaking. The two monasteries are both interesting, landscapes were beautiful and located in very scenic places. Lunch in Udabno Resturant was very reasonably priced delicious authentic food. Professional driver who was always up to the loamy underground of the off-road routes and brought us safely to our destination. Thank you for an impressive and eventful day. We highly recommend this reliable tour operator and will be happy to use his services again for future trips.

Hidden Gems, Wild Roads, and Warm People - I had an unforgettable adventure thanks to our amazing team — guide Koba and driver Kakha. Koba was incredibly nice, patient, and knowledgeable, sharing insights throughout the journey and showing us the hidden side of the Rainbow Mountain area that most tourists wouldn’t get to see. A special shout-out to Kakha, whose unique driving skills made even the roughest off-road paths feel like part of the fun — truly impressive! The journey was adventurous in the best way possible, and being in a small, close-knit group made everything smoother and more enjoyable. The private winery yard visit was also a highlight — peaceful, authentic, and definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something real, raw, and full of character.

It was a unique experience, void of touristy crowds, where one can enjoy the beauty of the Georgian nature and visit some of the best sites in peace. The hike through the Rainbow mountains was one of a kind and apart from being on the adventurous side, it was an amazing experience. Be prepared for a real hike and a real experience. Our guide, Alex, was super intelligent and knowledgeable and shared not only stories about the sites we visited but also the history behind them, facts about the economy, the lives of the people, recommendations on what, where and when to visit.
