• City Palace of Udaipur - The City Palace in Udaipur is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Initiated by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559, it was completed in the 18th century by his successors. This magnificent palace proudly stands on the banks of the picturesque Lake Pichola. A significant portion of the complex is still owned by the current king of Udaipur, while other parts have been converted into palace hotels and a historic museum open to all visitors. The City Palace Museum showcases the belongings of the kings, such as attire and weapons, reflecting the royal lifestyle of Udaipur’s rulers. Additionally, you can visit a beautiful Crystal Gallery displaying furniture and utensils made of glass. The palace is open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
• Jagdish Temple - Shree Jagdish Temple is a globally renowned temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This three-story, 79-foot-high temple was constructed by Maharana Jagat Singhji in 1651 at a cost of over 1.5 million rupees. It is owned and managed by the royal family of Udaipur. The main Jagdish temple is centrally located within the complex, surrounded by four smaller temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Sun God, Goddess Shakti, and Lord Shiva. With 32 steps and 50 pillars, it is a brilliant example of Indian architecture. Every year, thousands of devotees come to witness this remarkable temple.
• Dudh Talai - Dudh Talai is situated on the banks of Lake Pichola near the City Palace Complex. Here, you can enjoy stunning views of Pichola Lake, Jagmandir Island Palace, Lake Palace, Udaivilas, The Leela Palace, the beautiful Aravalli ranges, and the old city of Udaipur. You can either walk around the lake to observe various birds, relax in the lush green garden, or enjoy the musical fountains at the park. A ropeway trolley is available to visit the hilltop Karni Mata Temple. It is a famous sunset point in Udaipur.
• Lake Pichola - Lake Pichola is a beautiful artificial freshwater lake created in 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. It is one of several interconnected lakes developed over the centuries in and around the famous city of Udaipur. The lakes were primarily created by building dams to meet the drinking water and irrigation needs of the city and its surroundings. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir, are located within Lake Pichola and have been developed with several palaces offering views of the lake.
• Fateh Sagar Lake - Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake constructed by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678. It was later named after Maharana Fateh Singh, who made additions to it following significant damage caused by torrential rainfall. Fateh Sagar Lake is approximately 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) long and 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) wide, with three intake channels and an overflow channel used during the rainy season. Three verdant islands dot the lake, the largest being Nehru Park, a popular picnic spot for locals. All the islands can be reached by taking a boat ride on the lake.
• Maharana Pratap Memorial - Moti Magri (Pearl Hill) is located atop a hill overlooking Fateh Sagar Lake. It is the memorial of the Rajput hero Maharana Pratap, featuring a bronze statue of the Maharana riding his favorite horse, “Chetak.” The legendary and loyal horse Chetak is as famous as his rider for his courage and fearlessness. Nearby, you can visit the ruins of one of the first forts in Udaipur and an appealing Japanese rock garden.
