Gorilla Trekking and Discovering the Fascinating Batwa Culture

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Start your day with a refreshing cup of coffee before heading to the park headquarters for registration and a pre-trekking briefing by knowledgeable park rangers. The rangers will share insights about the gorillas’ lives and assign a group of up to eight people to track a gorilla family. Trekking is conducted on foot through the jungle, following the path where the gorillas were last seen, navigating hilly terrain and lush vegetation. This adventure offers exposure to a variety of plants, birds, and primates. Depending on the gorillas’ movements and your pace, tracking may take 1-7 hours, plus an additional hour for photography, inquiries, and observing the gentle silverback. Afterward, enjoy a lunch break followed by a visit to the Batwa pygmies, known as one of the shortest people in the world and former hunters and gatherers of the Bwindi jungle.

Return Journey to Kampala

This is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with our cousins, the gentle Mountain Gorillas, in their natural environment on the African continent. Embark on a 3-day Gorilla trekking safari to Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa, which hosts half of the world’s endangered mountain gorilla population in Bwindi. Participants will track gorillas in any of the four sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the largest concentration of individual mountain gorillas.
