Lake Mburo National Park - Begin your day with a warm cup of coffee before embarking on an early morning nature walk in Lake Mburo National Park, accompanied by a well-armed ranger. On foot, the wilderness comes alive—no engine noise, just the gentle crunch of grass underfoot as you approach zebras, antelopes, and birds without alarming them. Inhale the fresh morning air as your ranger shares intriguing insights about the park’s flora and fauna. After two hours, return for a hearty breakfast before setting off on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, renowned for its mountain gorillas. Along the way, rolling hills, lush valleys, and breathtaking landscapes will entice you to keep your camera ready for the perfect shot.
Gorilla Trekking Day
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Today is the much-anticipated gorilla trekking adventure! After breakfast, proceed to the briefing point where a ranger explains the dos and don’ts of encountering these gentle giants, addressing any questions before you begin. Equipped with sturdy hiking shoes and possibly a hired porter to carry your gear, follow your ranger deep into the jungle to where trackers have located the gorilla family. The moment you meet them is unforgettable—one magical hour in their presence, each reaction unique yet equally awe-inspiring. If energy permits after the trek, consider a nature walk to a waterfall and visit the Batwa pygmies, the forest’s original inhabitants, who will share their traditional lifestyle and ancient skills.
Bwindi - Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi - Today you travel to the “Switzerland of Africa.” Departing Bwindi, the road meanders through stunning scenery until terraced hills unfold before you. As you approach Lake Bunyonyi, its beauty becomes evident—29 emerald islands scattered across what is said to be Africa’s second deepest lake. From the hills above Kabale town, the view is simply breathtaking. After a delightful lunch at the charming Bird Nest Resort, your home for the night, embark on a tranquil boat ride to explore the lake’s islands. Along the way, observe locals skillfully navigating traditional canoes, their primary mode of transport between these peaceful, green isles.
Lake Bunyonyi - Kampala
Uganda Equator - The adventure may be concluding, but there’s one last highlight! On the drive back to Kampala, stop at the equator for an intriguing water experiment that demonstrates how forces differ on each side of the line. A local guide will showcase the unique movement of water in the northern and southern hemispheres—a fun and mind-bending experience. This is also the ideal spot for final souvenir shopping, from vibrant African wear to handcrafted treasures displayed in charming roadside shops. With memories made and stories to share, continue to Kampala. Thank you for traveling with Climax Nature Experience!
