Journey to Kibale Forest National Park

Kibale National Park - Begin the drive to western Uganda, enjoying the lush green landscapes and tea plantations. Engage with the local community during a market walk after lunch. Following lunch, embark on a one-hour drive to Kibale Forest, where you may encounter monkeys, birds, and baboons along the way and during a stopover. Chimpanzee Tracking

Kibale National Park - Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before setting off for a Chimpanzee walk. Kibale Forest National Park is home to approximately 13 primate species. During your visit, you can observe various monkeys, including the remarkable Red Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Black and White Colobus Monkey, L’Hoest Monkey, and the fascinating Chimpanzees. Spend an hour with these relatives, with the entire trip taking 3-4 hours through the tropical rainforest with an experienced guide. After lunch, explore Bigodi Swamp to spot more monkeys and bird species, passing through grasslands and small communities where locals are eager to greet visitors, and through coffee plantations and gardens to see daily life.

Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After a leisurely breakfast, set off for Buhoma, near the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is famous for its rare mountain gorillas, and the drive offers stunning views of local villages and the verdant countryside and hills of southwestern Uganda. Once in the forest park for Gorilla Tracking, you’ll find one of Africa’s richest ecosystems, with a diverse array of species. The park is home to around 120 mammal species, 348 bird species, 220 butterfly species, 27 frog species, chameleons, geckos, and many endangered species. Botanically, Bwindi is one of East Africa’s most diverse forests, with over 1,000 flowering plant species, including 163 tree species and 104 fern species. The journey takes approximately 4 hours.

Gorilla Trekking

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, with a packed lunch, report to the park by 8:00 am for registration and a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. Begin trekking through the rugged terrain in search of the magnificent Gorillas. There’s also a good chance of spotting other species like birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, and beautiful butterflies. The trek can last 1-8 hours, depending on the day’s luck. Encountering these captivating creatures is an exhilarating experience, watching them interact and play. Spending time with these remarkable primates is truly special. The time allowed with the gorillas in Uganda is 1 hour, and every moment is worthwhile. After leaving the forest, consider optional activities like visiting the pygmies or simply relaxing.

Return to Kampala or Airport

Kampala - Today marks the final day of your adventure! After breakfast, begin the journey back to Kampala, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Lunch will be en-route (not included), with another stop at the equator for the water experiment if missed on the first day.
