Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - The tour operator will pick guests up from their hotel in Kigali or the International Airport and drive them to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a place of remembrance and learning dedicated to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Afterward, the journey continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. This scenic 4-hour drive passes through Musanze or Gatuna Border, with a stop for lunch. The trip proceeds to the Rwanda and Ugandan border post for documentation verification to enter Uganda. Once verified, the drive continues with endless views of the volcano ranges and surrounding communities.

Gorilla Trekking Day

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - With a packed lunch box, guests will transfer to the Bwindi Park office by 7 am for a briefing and allocation to the gorilla families. Bwindi National Park boasts the highest population of gorillas in Uganda, with 19 habituated gorilla families, the most of any park. Visitors will then embark on a gorilla trekking adventure in the Bwindi forest, led by a park guide. Porters are available for hire to carry daypacks. After several hours of trekking through the jungle and hiking steep hills and ridges, guests will encounter the gorillas and enjoy one hour of observation. After the gorilla experience, guests will return to the lodge to relax for the rest of the day.

Transfer from Bwindi to Kigali

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - On this day, guests will transfer to the foothills of the magnificent Virunga Mountains. The Virunga Mountains are a chain of eight major volcanoes along the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Three volcanoes (Sabyinyo, Gahinga, Muhavura) are located along the Uganda border, forming the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. There will be a stop at the beautiful Lake Mutanda to capture photos and explore the breathtaking scenery. Lake Mutanda offers an idyllic setting, dotted with several islands and surrounded by stunning landscapes. After crossing the border, the driver will continue to Kigali, with a lunch stop in Musanze city.
