Chimp Trekking in Budongo Forest

Murchison Falls National Park - After breakfast, depart for chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest, which lasts approximately 3 to 5 hours. Budongo forest is also famous for its unique Mahogany tree species, which are very tall. Additionally, there are numerous primates including the forest galago, red-tailed monkeys, potto, and blue monkeys, along with several bird species like the yellow-footed eye catcher and the white-thighed hornbill.

Kibale National Park - Travel to Kibale, another popular tourist destination. Enjoy the scenic drive southwest through Fort Portal, where a lunch break is planned. Visit the Toro Kingdom palace, dining spots, Royal tombs, the mosque, and various shops, then proceed to Kibale, just a few kilometers ahead. This national park boasts the largest number of primates in East Africa, including chimpanzees, black & white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and baboons. After lunch, take a guided nature walk in the Bigodi swamp sanctuary, an ideal spot for bird enthusiasts. The Papyrus Gonolek and the Blue Turaco are easily spotted among 137 bird species. Additionally, there is a wide variety of colorful butterflies. It showcases a diverse range of plants and animals in the forest.

Chimp Tracking and Departure

Kibale National Park - After breakfast, rise early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This activity can take up to half a day. The area is home to primates like golden monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red Colobus, blue monkeys, and pottos. Other wildlife includes forest elephants, distinct from the common type, giant forest hogs, and remarkable tree species. Later, return to Kampala with a lunch stop along the way, concluding the safari.
