Drive west to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia, established in 1220 by the order of Chingis Khan. After the capital of the Mongolian Empire moved to the Yuan Dynasty in 1270, Kharkhorin’s role as a capital was abandoned. In 1586, to commemorate the adoption of Tibetan Buddhism as Mongolia’s official religion, the present Erdene Zuu Monastery was founded on the ruins of Kharkhorin city.

Hustai National Park - Elsen Tasarkhai-Khustai National Park
Drive back towards Ulaanbaatar to Hustai National Park, where the main attraction is the unique species of wild horse, the Takhi (Przewalski’s Horse), discovered at the end of the 19th century and reintroduced to Mongolia in Hustai NP. MACNE (Mongolian Association for the Conservation of Nature and Environment) along with FRPH (Foundation Reserves of Przewalski’s Horses) have brought a total of 84 Takhi to Mongolia over the last 10 years. The Takhi population has now exceeded 450. Hustai National Park is located 125 km from Ulaanbaatar, where you can see Przewalski’s horses (wild horses).
Khustai NP - Terelj NP
Terelj - Continue driving back towards Ulaanbaatar and arrive at Terelj NP, 180 km away on a paved road (2.5 hours driving). Terelj Tourist Ger Camp, north of Ulaanbaatar, is situated in a picturesque mountain valley of the Khan Khentii mountain range.
Stop at an “Ovoo,” a sacred site worshipped by Mongolians, usually erected on mountain passes.
Upon arrival, enjoy some free time.
Terelj NP - Ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar - Return to Ulaanbaatar, covering 80 km. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and visit the National History Museum, which showcases the history and geography of Mongolia. After the museum visit, enjoy shopping.

National Park Mongolia 13th Century - The first part of the Complex is the Chinggis Khan statue, located 60 km from Ulaanbaatar. The Complex spans an area of 80 sq. km. The statue stands 42 m high, including its round-shaped base construction. The base houses the King’s museum, display hall, restaurant, pub, cafe, conference and meeting facilities, and souvenir shops. This stop offers a breathtaking view of the natural scenery.
Drive an additional 30 km to the main stop at the 13th Century Complex, recognized as the period of the Mongolian Empire. The “13th Century National Park” project aims to provide opportunities to experience the everyday life of 13th-century Mongolians, including state affairs, livestock breeding, and traditional garments. Visit the four tribal camps: Craftsmen Camp, Educational Camp, The Herders’ Camp, Shaman Camp, and the King’s Palace.
