Traveling 110 kilometers southwest of Ulaanbaatar, visitors arrive at Khustain Nuruu, a conservation area dedicated to the protection and preservation of Mongolia’s wild horses, known as takhi or Przewalski’s horses. These horses, recognized by the global biology community, were once on the brink of extinction in the wild. However, from 1992 to 2004, successful reintroduction programs were carried out at Khustain National Park through partnerships with international environmental organizations, leading to the revival of the Takhi population.
