Intro to Mongolia - Can be personalized but I let my guides lead me on a wonderful adventure. Interesting to learn about the history of women in the culture. Buddhism here is different than others I’ve encountered. An unusual blend of Hinduism and Buddhism.
I thought it’s incredible that Mongolia has such a rich history beyond the era of Genghis Khan. Sandwiched between two superpowers it maintains its identity. Unsurprising as it was once a superpower in its own right.
Tuya is fun, speaks English well, and works hard to accommodate any needs or desires I had. She understood and liked my sense of humor.
Not common when English is a third language.
The Museum of Mongolian History gave me a background that will help me understand the rest of my time in Mongolia.
A touch of religion, history, current political situation, and local market culture, a great introduction to modern Mongolia! Plus laugh inducing side knowledge about traffic, food, and lack of drive-thru coffee shops.
An excellent introduction to an ancient culture.

No words. Perfect tour! - Unexpectedly, I was the only one on the tour and both the guide and I were early so we were able to shift stops around as we went and really had time to experience this interesting city. The guide was accommodating, knowledgeable and funny. I had a great time. I highly recommend this tour.

A highly enjoyable experience, overall - Because public transportation in Ulaanbaatar is limited to a few bus lines and taxis are not clearly marked, you really need a private driver to take you around the city to see the major sites. My driver was very friendly and was happy to accommodate whatever requests I had. One museum was unexpectedly closed so we spent more time in the market, which was fine by me. I prefer the market anyway. The only criticism I have is of the newly constructed Chinggis Khaan Museum, which is a beautiful, multi-million-dollar structure housing many artifacts and artworks on multiple floors. It never occurred to the curator of the museum to add English-language explanations of any of the exhibits. Everything is written in Mongolian Cyrillic and the traditional Mongolian script, making it inaccessible to European and North American tourists. Why the curator did this was never made clear, but since the museum will probably be visited by mostly tourists, so the tourism industry needs to rethink how they will make the Chinggis Khaan Museum more accessible to foreign tourists —but this is more a criticism of the museum and not a criticism of the tour guide. I enjoyed the tour, overall.

Trip in Ulaanbaatar - My trip to Ulaanbaatar was absolutely fantastic! The city’s vibrant mix of history and culture was fascinating, but the real highlight was our amazing tour guide. They were incredibly knowledgeable about Mongolian history, local traditions, and the city’s key landmarks. What impressed me the most was their ability to speak so many languages fluently, making everyone feel comfortable and engaged throughout the tour. From the Gandan Monastery to the rich stories of the Great Khans, the guide made everything come to life with their insights. It was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Ulaanbaatar!
