From Victorian Douglas, we will travel north along the coastal road, pausing at Laxey, an old mining town that boasts one of the world’s most impressive water wheels.
We’ll visit Laxey Woolen Mills, where the weaver crafts Manx Tartan and other tweeds on manually powered looms, before heading to King Orry’s Grave, a Neolithic burial site.

From Victorian Douglas, we will travel north along the coastal road, pausing at Laxey, an old mining town that boasts one of the world’s most impressive water wheels.
We’ll visit Laxey Woolen Mills, where the weaver crafts Manx Tartan and other tweeds on manually powered looms, before heading to King Orry’s Grave, a Neolithic burial site.
Next, we’ll explore the site of the first monastery on the island at Maughold, founded in 550, and see many ancient crosses carved by Celts and Vikings.
A brief visit through the town of Ramsey will take us north to the Point of Ayre and the island’s flat glacial plains, passing small churches and villages along the way.
After a lunch break, we’ll get a burst of adrenaline by following the famous TT course to Peel. With its castle, cathedral, marina, and old fishing cottages, Peel is a charming place to stop before heading to St Johns and Tynwald Hill, a four-tiered hill that is one of the island’s most distinctive landmarks.
