Chinchero - Moray - Salt Mines - Ollantaytambo and Train to Aguas Calientes

Chinchero - After breakfast at the hotel, a Machupicchu Latin America expert guide will pick up guests at 7:30 am from the hotel lobby. The journey begins with a private transport from Cusco, passing through or exploring Chinchero (if not previously visited). Guests will visit the Tupac Inca Yupanqui Royal House, where original Inca walls are well-preserved, and meet Chinchero women in traditional attire at a weaving or textile center. There will also be an opportunity to see llamas and alpacas.

Moray - The journey continues to the village of Maras, where guests can stroll through typical streets and taste the famous Chicha, a corn-based drink used in special ceremonies since Incan times. The next stop is the archaeological site of Moray, an important agricultural system. Moray was likely a significant agricultural research center during the Incan era, with experiments conducted at various crop heights. The concentric circular terraces create micro-climates, with the center having higher temperatures that gradually decrease outward.

Salinas de Maras - After visiting Moray, the next stop is the famous Salineras or Salt Mines. Salt is extracted in an artisanal manner from about 3000 small wells that have been in use since Incan times, serving as a means of economic exchange.

Urubamba - A stop at Urubamba town for lunch (not included).

Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo - Post-lunch, the journey continues to Ollantaytambo to visit this remarkable Inca site, an important area with Inca constructions from the Incan era. This extraordinary Inca citadel features an impressive rock formation representing the Inca god Wiracocha.

Aguas Calientes - Finally, guests will be taken to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu town). The train journey offers fascinating views along the sacred Vilcanota River. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes train station, hotel staff will welcome guests and escort them to the hotel. After check-in, the remaining time is free for leisure.
Arrival at Aguas Calientes is expected between 5 to 6 pm.
Overnight stay at the hotel in Aguas Calientes before visiting Machupicchu the next day.

Machupicchu and Back to Cusco

Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu - After breakfast at the hotel, a Machupicchu Latin America guide will pick up guests from the hotel lobby and walk them to the bus station to board the bus to Machupicchu. Guests will explore one of the New Seven Wonders of the World with a guide who will share insights about the history, traditions, and mysteries of this enigmatic Inca citadel. The guided tour lasts around 3 hours.
After the tour, guests will board the bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and have some extra time to buy local souvenirs. The train back to Ollantaytambo train station takes 1.5 hours. At Ollantaytambo, a representative will be waiting at the general exit gate with a sign bearing the guest’s name and will transfer them via private transport back to their Cusco hotel, arriving between 5 to 6 pm.
The tour can also conclude at Cusco airport.
