DAY 01: CUSCO – PISCACUCHO (Km 82) – WAYLLABAMBA
Inca Trail - The four-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu begins bright and early in Cusco. Transportation takes participants to Ollantaytambo, where there is time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to Piscacucho (Km 82). Here, the entire support team, including porters and a cook, is met. After a brief orientation, the adventure begins with a visit to the historical Inca site of Llactapata (2650 masl / 8692 feet), strategically positioned for access to Machu Picchu. Following this visit, the journey continues to the lunch spot, and then on to the first campsite at Wayllabamba (3000 masl / 9840 feet). The camping team is ready and waiting, ensuring a relaxing experience. Small shops are available for purchasing drinks, snacks, or essentials. In the evening, dinner is shared with the team, and the guide provides information about the second day.
DAY 02: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYO
Inca Trail - The day begins with a stunning view of the valley and a cup of coca tea offered by the team to invigorate spirits, followed by an energizing breakfast in preparation for a demanding day. The first section is the most challenging, with a steady ascent to the highest point of the trek, the Warmiwañusca pass (4,200 masl / 13,776 feet). Upon reaching the top, there is a breathtaking view of the valley, showcasing both the path traveled and the one ahead. After a well-deserved rest and some photos, the journey continues with a descent to the valley floor, leading to the next campsite at Pacaymayo (3,500 masl / 11,482 feet). Upon arrival, the team has already set up the equipment and is preparing lunch. The afternoon is spent with the guide, exploring the area’s remarkable flora and fauna.
DAY 03: PACAYMAYO – RUNKURAKAY – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYHUAYNA
Inca Trail - After enjoying breakfast prepared by the support team, the trek continues on the four-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The day begins with a two-hour ascent to the archaeological site of Runkurakay (3800 masl / 12,470 feet). Following a guided tour and explanation, the ascent continues to the highest point, the pass, and then on to other sites like Sayacmarca (3580 masl / 11,472 feet). As the journey progresses, the landscapes become increasingly lush, transitioning into jungle terrain. In the afternoon, the group arrives at Phuyupatamarca (3,600 masl / 11,930 feet), offering a panoramic view of the Urubamba Valley, the gateway to Machu Picchu. The descent then begins to the final campsite at Wiñaywayna (2650 masl / 8692 feet), where the team has already set up camp and awaits with a refreshing hot mate, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 04: WIÑAYHUAYNA – INTI PUNKU – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Inca Trail - The day starts with a delicious breakfast. Before leaving the camp, there is an emotional farewell with the support team that has accompanied the group throughout the trek.
