After checking in at our office, you’ll meet your guide and fellow adventurers. Before setting off, your guide will equip you with crampons and ensure you have all the necessary gear listed in your confirmation. From our office, you’ll embark on a 2-mile interpretive hike to the glacier. Upon reaching the glacier’s edge, you’ll put on your crampons and step onto the ice for the first time! Prepare to hear the crunch of ice beneath your feet as you journey onto the glacier to witness the magnificent 7,000-foot Stairway Icefall! Throughout the hike, your guide will explain the natural forces that have shaped the landscape and provide ample opportunities for photos.

This hike covers a moderate 5-6 mile round trip, making it ideal for families, couples, and solo adventurers! We maintain a guide-to-traveler ratio of about 1:8, welcoming individuals of all ability levels. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a beginner, anyone with a spirit of adventure is encouraged to join! However, this hike may be challenging for children under 7 and those with knee issues.
