After some paddling, the group will approach the entrance of a dense mangrove forest; the tour guide will assist in navigating through a narrow channel among the trees, pointing out various features of the natural ecosystem along the way. Once it becomes dark enough, the tour guide will equip each kayak with a battery-powered LED light that illuminates the water below. The light is usually green, providing optimal visibility while minimizing any impact on marine life.
