Easy family friendly guided paddle - Be prepared to get a little wet and to paddle through the mangroves. Once into the mangroves, jump off a small swimming hole. We were fortunate to see a manatee in the canals. Otherwise, our guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

Mangroves maybe Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour - Let's address the big question first—did we see any manatees? Unfortunately, no. But despite that, we still had a fantastic time. I know manatees are wild animals, so I understand there's no guarantee. On our way back, the guide mentioned that they typically see manatees only about 25% of the time. Since "manatees" is in the tour's name, it would be helpful if they were a little more upfront about the chances of actually seeing one. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from taking the tour or implying anything shady—it’s just a small suggestion. That being said, the tour itself was great. We had an amazing time. The total tour lasted about two hours, and we paddled 2.5 miles (I tracked it on my Garmin). Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He made several stops along the way to explain the environment and the local wildlife. Even without seeing any manatees, kayaking through the mangroves was an unforgettable experience. We even had our two young kids with us (ages 4 and 7), and the two-person kayaks fit them comfortably. At the halfway point, we came across a hidden swimming hole in the mangroves. We all got out of our kayaks and had a blast swimming in the water. This leads me to another suggestion for the tour—while they did warn us to leave behind items like phones and keys and mentioned we might get wet, I didn't quite realize that swimming would actually be part of the itinerary. I assumed I'd stay dry as long as I didn’t fall out of the kayak. When we reached the swimming spot, I didn't want to miss out, so I ended up jumping in with my street clothes on. Not a huge deal, but it would’ve been helpful to know beforehand that swimming was part of the plan. Sure, kayaking usually gets you a little wet, but that’s different from dressing for an actual swim. I’m not upset at all—just a little more upfront info about the possibility of swimming and the likelihood of seeing manatees would have been helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I don’t regret it. After the tour, we browsed through their shop, which had a lot of cool stuff. We ended up buying more in their store on apparel and keepsakes than we did on the actual tour itself. All in all, it was a fun, memorable experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Fun workout looking for Manatees - Staff is personable. Equipment is in good shape. The paddle trail was great. Only issue is we needed warmer water for Manatees. Saw plenty of fish.
