With its majestic St. Peters sandstone bluffs towering over the Illinois River to the canyons carved out deep along the shoreline, this state park has been consistently rated #1 in Illinois with over 3 million visitors a year. Tandem kayaks offer great versatility as they can carry up to 3 passengers. The 3rd passenger is a non-paddling passenger and must be a child under 70 lbs or a dog under 40 lbs. The 2nd passenger may be a child or dog of any size.
