History--Who Knew? Conor did.... - The history of Portland was amazing! The architecture, the tunnels, the Government officials, and all of the details included were so worth the time/cost. Conor was knowledgeable and friendly to all of us that had curious questions. He took us thru the history and pointed out details and sights that I am sure most Portland residents are not aware of. The Shanghai shenanigans and astonishing stories of "business" in Portland long ago were shared by Conor in a special sense of Pride of Portland. The walking is not really strenuous and you get to see all kinds of history. I encourage you to go on the tour and seek out the tours with Conor. thank you. Also the TULIP Festival and the colors are gorgeous. Lovely

A few days before we were to go on this tour, we received a call saying that my husband and I were the only people signed up for the tour and wanted to put us on the city tour at no extra cost. The city tour was very good. As it turned out my husband and I were the only two people on the tour. Our tour guide, Carry, was very good and informative. The tour was excellent. It gave us a very good overview of the city and we liked the various stops on the tour.

We did take a break at the Benson Hotel and enjoyed looking at all the lovely wood décor and the gorgeous fire place. I know so much more about the history of this progress city thanks to him.

The local tour company was very flexible and accomodating - the scheduled tour guide actually broke their ankle the night before, but they were able to find Gunnar as a replacement and reschedule with us for later in the day, which worked out great. This did make his food recommendations less useful since we'd already eaten, but he pointed out a lot of interesting architecture and historical information as well. Definitely recommended, great value for the price!

She was good but not great. Very very nice and cheerful though. Needs more nuts and bolts info on sustainable buildings etc. We were fine with everything in the end.
