• Spearfish Canyon - This guided tour starts with a pickup from your Rapid City hotel around 8:30 AM. The journey begins with a drive to Sturgis, renowned for the Motorcycle Rally held in the first week of August. The tour will cover the town’s history, the motorcycle rally, and Ft. Meade, a peace-keeping fort established in 1878, still utilized by the Veterans’ Administration and the South Dakota National Guard.

Next, the tour proceeds to the town of Spearfish, where you will enter the picturesque Spearfish Canyon, featuring limestone cliffs, waterfalls, and a variety of trees including evergreen, birch, and aspen. There will be stops for photography and sightseeing.

• Lead - From Spearfish Canyon, the tour continues to the town of Lead, where you will learn about its history and view its historic buildings and landmarks. A 30-minute stop at the Homestake Mine Visitor Center is included to see the open cut mine, which was the largest gold mine in the western hemisphere for 125 years before its closure. It was donated to the State of South Dakota and now serves as an underground National Science Lab, reaching a depth of 8,000 ft.

• Deadwood, South Dakota - Following this, the tour heads to Deadwood, with a stop in Pluma at the Chubby Chipmunk Chocolate Shop, known for the finest truffles in the Black Hills (optional stop). The journey continues to Deadwood, a historic town that was part of the last Gold Rush in the Continental USA in 1876.

The tour can include a drive to Mt. Moriah Cemetery, where visitors can walk to see the graves of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and others. Alternatively, a local one-hour bus tour is available, taking guests directly to the graves.

Visitors can explore the 1892 Victorian Adams House, the Tatanka Buffalo Jump bronze statues, or the Adams Museum. There will be time to discover the downtown area and its historic sites, including the location where Wild Bill Hickok was shot, Saloon #10, which is filled with antiques and historic photographs.
