Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park. This park is one of Africa’s hidden treasures and is a must-visit for those who appreciate wilderness and solitude. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which is the sole water source during the dry season.
Tarangire’s landscape is uniquely diverse, featuring a mix not found elsewhere on the northern safari circuit. It is adorned with ancient baobab trees, believed by the Maasai to be the first tree in creation, and large termite mounds. During the dry season, the sun bakes the earth a dusty red, while the wet season transforms it into dense bush and lush high grasses.

Renowned for its large elephant population, the park also hosts zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, waterbuck, baboons, dwarf mongoose, impala, buffalo, antelope, and fringe-eared oryx. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards also roam here.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Enjoy a full-day game drive in the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979, where humans and wildlife coexist harmoniously. The Crater offers some of Africa’s best game viewing, with a constant abundance of wildlife due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor.
Upon reaching the Crater’s rim, you will descend 610 meters into the Crater, where your safari adventure truly begins. Look out for the endangered black rhino, as well as wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle, and the majestic giant tusked elephants. The Crater also boasts the largest known population of lions, along with leopards, cheetahs, and scavengers like spotted hyenas, jackals, and rare wild dogs. Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including white pelicans and flamingos.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara - Today, experience a full-day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is home to giant fig trees, acacia woodlands, mahogany trees, and grassy flood plains. The area’s contrasts are breathtaking, with open plains, a towering escarpment, Soda Lake, dense woodlands, and distant volcanic peaks, described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.”
Animals such as large buffalo, wildebeest, giraffes, mongoose, dik-dik, and zebra herds gather on the grassy plains, while the narrow acacia woodland is home to the famous tree-climbing lions and tusked elephants.

In the late afternoon, return to Usa River town for your final evening.
