- Cathedral Valley - Guests will be picked up from their accommodations in one of our luxurious off-road SUVs. They will then embark on a journey through approximately 70 miles of Utah’s most remote landscapes. The famous Cathedral Valley Loop features a thrilling river crossing (safely navigated in our capable SUVs) and picturesque stops. Refreshments will be provided, along with a break for lunch and/or snacks. Guests will gain insights into the area’s ancient, geological, and recent history, enhancing the breathtaking scenery for an unforgettable adventure.
- Bentonite Hills - The route to this location takes visitors through stunning, rainbow-striped sedimentary hills from the Jurassic era that must be seen to be believed.
- Upper Cathedral Valley Overlook - Guests will enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the magnificent monoliths and geology of Cathedral Valley below, as well as a vista across the valley to the nearly twelve-thousand-foot-high Thousand Lakes Mountain. A short, 1/4-mile hike offers those interested an even closer look at this incredible valley!
- Lower South Desert Overlook - This overlook provides breathtaking views right from the parking area, with even more spectacular vistas at the end of an easy, 1/4-mile hike. Guests will witness the best view of the iconic Jailhouse Rock formation, the centerpiece of the overlook.
- Upper South Desert Overlook Road - A brief spur road off the main loop leads guests to another optional short hike of 1/8 mile to one of the highest overlook points on the tour. From here, stunning views and photo opportunities await, stretching east and west along the valley below.
- Walls of Jericho - A magnificent Entrada formation that embodies the essence of Cathedral Valley.
- Gypsum Sinkhole - This marks the conclusion of The Glass Mountain story, with potential sightings of pronghorn antelope.

Two tour options are available: 1. Half Day and 2. Full Day.
- The Half-Day tour showcases the most stunning and iconic landmarks of Capitol Reef, including the Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Moon, and The Glass Mountain. Participants will enjoy spectacular views of the vibrant Bentonite and Mancos Shale, with formations reminiscent of Mars.
- The Full-Day tour is a 7-9 hour adventure covering a 60-mile Cathedral Valley loop, visiting all 8 destinations outlined in the tour’s itinerary in the “What to Expect” section below.
