- Parque Nacional Marino Ballena - Our office is a short walk to the entrance of the National Park. The boat departs from the beach in the park.
- Punta Uvita - The Whale’s Tail (Punta Uvita) is a naturally formed landmark at Marino Ballena National Park, created by converging currents and renowned as one of the top attractions in Costa Rica….

- Punta Uvita - The Whale’s Tail (Punta Uvita) is a naturally formed landmark at Marino Ballena National Park, created by converging currents and renowned as one of the top attractions in Costa Rica. From there we head out into the ocean in search of dolphins and whales.
- Ballena Bay - We will explore greater Bahia Ballena in search of dolphins and whales. Southern Hemisphere Whales (July to October) - Enjoy the humpback whales migrating from Antarctica to breed and care for their young. Northern Hemisphere Whales (December to April) - Enjoy the humpback whales migrating from the west coast of the United States to Costa Rica. Dolphins (Year-Round) - Enjoy watching spinner, spotted, rough-toothed, and bottlenose dolphins.
- Isla Ballena - Coming in from offshore, we’ll explore Isla Ballena, part of the protected Bahia Ballena. Then depending on conditions, guests can enjoy clear water snorkeling in the summer (late November to April). In the winter season (May to early November), guests can take a refreshing swim in the warm waters—a fantastic experience.
- Uvita Beach - After Bahia Ballena we will travel near shore along several beaches: Playa Pinuelas, Playa Pinales, Playa Arco, Playa Colonia, and then disembark at Playa Uvita where we started.

Begin your adventure with a check-in at our property, followed by a picturesque 15-minute hike through Marino Ballena National Park to the beach, where you’ll embark on our state-of-the-art 24-seat tour boat.
The excursion takes you 15 miles offshore to premier whale and dolphin-watching locations, providing spectacular views of Isla Ballena and the Three Sisters, a protected bird sanctuary. Even outside of whale seasons, this tour remains exhilarating, featuring dolphin sightings, seabird observation, and opportunities for a refreshing swim or snorkel.
From October to June, enjoy snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters near Isla Ballena or the Whale’s Tail. During the rainy season (July to September), when visibility is reduced, delight in a revitalizing swim in the warm Pacific.
Regardless of the season, this tour promises an unforgettable adventure!

Take Costanera Sur/Ruta Nacional Primaria 34 south to Uvita. Pass the Rio Uvita bridge, then make a right (.75km) on the street just after the Naluri Collections Home Goods Store. Then, drive .60km until you see the Martin Adventours office on the left, 80 meters before the intersection.

It rained the entire time… but we saw baby and mama whale and then a little north, we saw another whale. BEAUTIFUL! - Risto was the best! Nothing he could do about the rain. He was very accommodating. An added touch was the fruit with the ride.

They took us to breathtaking spots and shared so much local knowledge. Everything felt safe, well organized, and full of adventure. Great time and educational. - It was an amazing adventure. They are all about safety and making sure everyone knows what's happening. When we got onto the ocean, the captain of our ship started radioing other tours to find out where yhe animals were. We seen a rare sight, turtles mating. Wow! We went on to see a mother humpback and her baby. Baby whale was very active and did allot of jumping out of the water. Definitely recommend!! Lots of fun, and our guide, Heiner, was very knowledgeable and encouraged questions. My family and I absolutely loved it!!

The best certainly! Thank you very much. 100% recommended - 100% Recommended! Amazing experience from start to finish! Service, guidance and treatment were excellent. The office, which is also the meeting point, is very close to the beach and is a clean and comfortable space where you can wait to go on tour. There they had prepared a snack with snacks, juices and coffee. They also have a bathroom and shower so you can get ready after the tour. In addition, they have parking for your vehicle.
The boat was new, clean and comfortable, and the life jackets were practically new. We were lucky enough to see 2 whales and their sperm whale. We especially want to thank Vanessa, our guide Geiner, Keilor and Roylan for their excellent Service and attention. Even a detail they had prepared for my mom's birthday (without asking) If we decided to do an activity or tour in that area again, it will certainly be with you.

We saw whales! - Everything was perfect. We saw 2 whales - a female and a cub. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. There is enough time to spot whales. There was coffee, juice and cookies at the beginning (however, if you get seasick, you should resist the urge to snack before the departure ;)). Then there was fresh fruit on the boat during a swim break. The boat was new, well-kept and only half full with our group so we were very comfortable. We 100% recommend Martin Adventours!

Amazing experience - Trip took around 3 1/2 hours. Went around the park on the boat looking for whales until we saw one with their baby. Amazing experience all around. For the price of the admission it was a well worth trip.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE - What an amazing and magical experience!!! Our guide, Risto, was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!!! All the crew were wonderful! The time we spent on the tour was perfect. To have the opportunity to see 4 humpback whales, turtles and all kinds of birds!!! We got to swim in the open Pacific Ocean and then they provided fresh delicious fruit to eat. We felt like ViPs!! The price for the tour was great especially for the amount of time and the experience of it all!! Would recommend this to everyone!!

Unbelievable experience! - We had the most unforgettable experience today! From start to finish, everything was beyond amazing—but what truly made the day was our guide, Geniero. He was so knowledgeable and kind, explaining every detail with genuine passion that made us feel completely immersed in the beauty around us.
The highlight was meeting a mama whale and her calf. Watching the baby play and breach up again and again while the mother stayed close and protective was breathtaking. At one magical moment, the calf came right up to the boat—an absolute gift we’ll carry for the rest of our lives. It didn’t feel like a tour; it felt like being invited into nature’s living room.
If you’re considering whale watching in Uvita, do it—Martin adventours and ask for Geniero if you can. His calm expertise, warm heart, and love for the whales create a safe, joyful experience where every minute matters. This was worth it- pure wonder, unforgettable memories, and a story you’ll be proud to tell. (And yes, he deserves a raise!)
