Totally worth it - Great experience. Guide was awesome. Wildlife at its best. You see everything Costa Rica has all in one spot. Boat ride is a little long but we saw dolphins on the way back

Bit overpriced but OK day trip, good for first timers. - It started at 6.30-7.00 at the Uvita office, with cookies, juice, cake, and fruits at registration and waiver paperwork. While walking 15 minutes to Uvita Seashore the guides showed us several animals, birds, fauna, and insects just in Uvita itself! We got in a speedboat wading through knee/hip high seashore water and rode for 1.5 to 2 hours reaching the Corcovado National Park San Pedrillo entrance around 9.30-10 am. We walked for 2-2.30 hours through the outskirts of the jungle just off the seashore, which is called a fringe forest. We saw a few birds including Toucan and Macaw, but no animals. We wanted to see Tapir, Anteater, and four types of monkeys. The guides did not take us to the secondary forest so forget about taking to denser primary forest. We returned to the base and had a basic lunch of rice, salad, and fruit. We returned by a 1.5-hour boat ride when we saw Dolphins but no luck for Whales, as it was not the season. We reached Uvita beach around 3.30 pm. Overall, bit overpriced but still an enjoyable day trip to Corcovado National Park.

A wonderful experience that could use a few improvements. - We enjoyed our time but there were some things that could use improvement. I would have liked to have gone deeper in the jungle and I thought that there was a lot of talking about really minor things (like insects) instead of walking and seeing monkeys .... As well, we got caught in a mixed group of Spanish and English, so everything seemed to take twice as long as it should have. The organization was great. The folks were kind and great. The boat ride was a highlight. We also did see spider monkeys, Scarlet macaws, dolphins, and a few other birds.

Not to be missed - The experience at Corcovado allowed us to visit an environment still intact (the only primary forest in Costa Rica) and little frequented. Leo, our guide, was nice and very prepared. It is important to keep in mind that you can never be sure of seeing all animals (monkeys are easily found, tapirs are fewer and more shy, we have not been able to see them. Recommended, especially for those who want to make a more adventurous experience.

Fun, and adventurous, trip to Corcovado - Overall this was a great experience. As advertised, the hike was long, but mostly flat. It rained the day before so it was very muddy and slippery. We were lucky to be able to see a lot of animals. The pictures that we were able to get with the guides help were absolutely amazing. Rain came at the end of the day, and getting back on the boats was very challenging. The guides did an incredible job of making it as safe as possible. I was impressed how the guides from the different tour groups stayed and helped each other. The only reason I gave it a 4-star is because I wish there had been a little more warning about the boat ride over potential to be rough. And our guide kept saying he would give us pictures afterwards, but when we got off the boat he just took off! I even chased him to give him a tip and wasn’t ache to. I would give it a 4 1/2 star if possible.

Expensive if you don’t see animals … - Unfortunately we have seen only 2 monkeys. I honestly think that we should be informed that when it’s rainy the chance of seeing tapir or ants eaters is not on our side. For a family of 4, 800$ Canadian money is very expensive when you don’t see animals.

Disappointing! - We were disappointed by our experience. Going 3 hours by boat to walk almost only in a path bordering the shore did not seem like an exhilarating experience. We could have made the same kind of visit around Uvita. Moreover, We had few explanations. Too bad, because the goal of going to Cocovado is to soak up the rainforest, learn about its vegetation and wildlife. In short, our experience is far from worth the price we paid.

Overpriced walk - First off Viator basically provided few to no details about this experience: you can’t bring a plastic bottle, it’s a wet entry and landing from the boat, the boat ride is incredibly choppy, the hike is a walk around the outskirts of the park nothing more. We landed at Corcovado a bit late: 9:30am and had to leave by 1pm. The hike itself was maybe 2.5 hours. That’s not worth $170 bucks. The guide was solid and it’s not his fault we only saw dolphins, toucans, spider monkeys, coatis, and a few birds. The abundant wildlife was non-existent. There’s more wildlife in Manuel Antonio. Also the remoteness is over advertised. A guard was blowing whistles, groups were running into each other in the park, they had tractors running, golf carts, bathrooms in multiple places. Go find a different park, go to another ranger station, or stay overnight but this one day tour is not worth it. Lunch was fine if that’s something that matters to you.
