Uvita Chocolate Tour 5 Stars - This was one of the best excursions I have ever taken in Costa Rica. You get to learn the history and participate in the making of chocolate from start to finish. Our tour guide was a very kind and hard working person. It was an unforgettable experience.

Best chocolate you’ll ever taste - such a primitive and unique experience! So hands on and interactive. The owner was so informative and his chocolate was amazing! His story is inspiring, such a hard worker!

A man with true passion! - Ronald has a true passion for chocolate and the process before the industrialization. Just listening to him shine as he speaks is a 5-star review in itself! We got a tour through the process, we got to try to make the paste ourselves, and we even got a facial mask! Very fun and informative experience. Lovely area 💖 Thank you so much!

This is a Don't Miss Experience for the whole family! - I couldn't agree more with all of the comments! This tour exceeded our expectations and then some. I learned SO MUCH about making chocolate the original way....by hands, no machines. Ronald was so knowledgeable and seemed to love sharing his experiences with us. He was very good to include all of us....age 7 through 73. This felt rustic and real. It will be one of our best memories of Costa Rica. I highly recommend.

Amazing chocolate tour with Ronald - We spend amazing time with Ronald. He told us everything about chocolate and about lots of other things. After the hike in his own garden jungle we tried all steps of chocolate processing. We tasted everything and we discovered the world of chocolate. We were extremely excited and we thank a lot to Ronald for this amazing experience.

For the love of chocolate! - This tour was such a treat! Ronald Alpízar, who runs it, is charming, funny and clearly loves what he does. We learned so much about cacao and all that is done to turn it into chocolate. We also learned all the awful processing that big factories do to make the unhealthy sugary stuff we tend to eat. We got to roast beans, remove them from their pods, grind them into a paste and then have the paste as hot chocolate and on a banana (actually Ronald does most of the labor as we were are not so strong). There were also delicious smoothies (made by his wife), watching a chocolate facial (on one of our pals), seeing the monkeys who live on his property and his adorable pets (kitty and two dogs). This was a leisurely, enjoyable tour of all things chocolate. I highly recommend it.

Great tour - Ronald who gave us out tour was so knowledgeable and funny. 3 hours flew buy. When learned so much about chocolate and even made our own, which we used in some delicious hot chocolate. My husband even got a chocolate facial. I forgot to mention the smoothies Ronald's wife made. Do not miss this.
