• Train Cemetery - The tour kicks off at 10:30 am from the Andes Salt Expeditions office in a Toyota Land Cruiser 4 × 4 WD. Our first stop is the Train Cemetery, an ideal spot for artistic photography. Next, we head to the company’s base to use the hygienic facilities, which include three bathrooms and showers for both men and women. Here, we also try on our boots for the salt water to experience the mirror effect and pick up lunch for the group.

• Colchani - We arrive at COLCHANI, situated on the edge of the Uyuni Salt Flats and home to the Rosario Cooperative, which houses 15 rustic salt factories. Visitors can observe the drying of salt in ovens, the crushing process, the mixing of iodine with salt, and the packaging of salt for both national and medicinal use.

• Salar de Uyuni - We then reach the expansive Salar de Uyuni, covering an area of 12 square kilometers. Here, we visit the ‘eyes of salt’ (large holes in the salt flat where salt water is forced out under high pressure), the flags of the world, and the Dakar monument. We also have a perspective photo session and shoot funny videos with our professional expert driver-guide. Lunch is served on-site, followed by a 15-minute walk on the salt flat before arriving at Incawasi Island, located 120 km from Uyuni in the center of the salt flat. This main destination for most salt desert tours is an extraordinary, otherworldly place, covered with giant, medium, and small cacti, and a flat white sea of hexagonal salt tiles. The island is populated by stranded vizcachas (Andean rodents) and features cacti up to 7 to 10 meters high. Photographers will find Cactus Island to be one of the best sites in the world to indulge their passion.

• Salar de Uyuni - We then tour over 100 km of the salt flat to visit the salt water and observe the mirror effect. The tour concludes with a sunset view, accompanied by a snack of red wine, cookies, and Pringles, finishing at 07:30 pm.
