- Torres de Serranos - The Serrano Towers are a prime example of Gothic architecture. Constructed between 1392 and 1398 by architect Pere Balaguer, they were part of the medieval city walls. These towers served as one of the city’s gates, primarily for defense. Due to their location, they were the entry point for those arriving from the Serranos area, which is how they got their name. The structure features two large polygonal towers flanking a central arch. The exterior is sturdy and straightforward, reflecting its military purpose. Over the years, the towers have functioned as a defense point, a prison for nobles, and a historical monument. Visitors can explore the interior and climb to enjoy one of the city’s best views.
- Puerta de la Mar - Although it appears ancient, the Sea Gate is a modern reconstruction. Rebuilt in 1946 to honor those who fell in the Spanish Civil War, it is crafted from white stone with three arches, the central one being the largest.
- Puente de las Flores Alcaldesa Rita Barbera - Opened in 2002, this bridge was constructed to provide an additional crossing over the Turia Gardens. The flowers are changed every four months, which is why it is considered the most expensive bridge in Valencia. September is the least favorable month to visit, as the flowers are being replaced, making it the most costly time.
- Estadio De Mestalla - Opened in 1923, Mestalla is the home of Valencia CF and one of Spain’s most iconic stadiums. Designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, the stadium accommodates 50,000 spectators and is renowned for its steep stands that bring fans closer to the action, creating an exhilarating atmosphere.
- La Marina de Valencia - The old port of Valencia spans a million square meters and is bustling with activities. It serves as a hub of culture, innovation, and business in the city, blending gastronomy, sports, music, and entrepreneurship. Veles e Vents, known for its distinctive architecture, hosts exhibitions, dance events, and various arts. The area includes the Tinglados and the old shipyard. There are over 800 private moorings for boats, service companies, sports clubs, and federations offering sailing, diving, and kayaking.
- Playa de la Malvarrosa - This is Valencia’s most famous beach and has inspired many artists. In the mid-19th century, it transitioned from a flower area to the beach known today. Its wide, fine golden sand and easy access to the city make it a popular choice for locals.
- El Cabanyal - This beach derives its name from Valencia’s old fishing quarter. Locals still refer to it as Las Arenas after the old spa, now a luxury hotel complex. The beach offers numerous restaurants and entertainment options. Some seaside spots transform into nightlife venues, including the Marina Beach Club.
- Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias - The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is a stunning architectural and cultural complex designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. Construction began in 1996 and concluded in 2009, with the goal of revitalizing the city and establishing it as a global cultural, scientific, and leisure center.
- Mercado Colon - Situated in a prestigious area of Valencia, this impressive modernist building opened in 1928. It was part of a significant project to modernize commerce and revitalize the city center, aiming to create a more modern and functional shopping space. Designed by architect Francisco Mora, the market features colorful mosaics, ornate columns, and a large glass dome. Renovated in 2003, it now houses restaurants, cafes, and gourmet shops. It symbolizes Valencia’s architectural heritage, reflecting its rich history and modernity.
- Plaza de Toros de Valencia - Opened in 1859, the Bullring is one of Spain’s most iconic and a notable example of neoclassical architecture in Valencia. Designed by architect Sebastian Monleon, it seats 10,000 and features a circular brick structure with Doric columns, inspired by the Roman Colosseum. Besides bullfighting, it currently hosts cultural events and concerts, making it a key cultural reference in Valencia.
- Estacio del Nord - Opened in 1917, Estación del Norte is a prominent example of modernist architecture in Spain. It was built to modernize and expand Valencia’s railway infrastructure, creating a more functional and attractive building. Designed by architect Demetrio Ribes, it features colorful ceramics, Valencian-style tiles, and ornamental details that reflect the region’s cultural richness. The station has an elegant lobby and waiting area reminiscent of the Harry Potter movies. It is an architectural icon and tourist attraction.
- Central Market of Valencia - Opened in 1928, the Central Market of Valencia is one of Spain’s oldest and most vibrant markets, showcasing modernist architecture. It was built to replace the old Market Square and provide a modern and functional space for fresh and local produce, reflecting the city’s growth and modernization. Designed by Francisco Guardia and Alejandro Soler, the market features a large iron and glass dome, colorful ceramics, and ornamental details. It remains a key location for fresh produce and is a cultural and tourist landmark, close to other attractions such as La Lonja and Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
- Torres de Quart - The Quart Towers of Valencia are medieval city gates constructed between 1441 and 1460. They were part of the city’s defensive wall, located on the road to Quart, which connected Valencia with the west and north. The design is robust and defensive, with two cylindrical towers linked by a wall and a large arch. Made of brick, they have Gothic elements and an imposing structure. They were damaged during the War of Independence and restored in the 19th century.

Great experience - The tour was amazing. Luigi, our driver, was super friendly and you could tell he knew the city thoroughly. It took us through the best known sites like the City of Arts, the historic center, and also showed us some cool corners that we would not have seen on our own. Also, he told us a lot of interesting things about the city, but without getting bored. The tuk tuk is very comfortable and lets you see the city in a relaxed and fun way. It is a different and super recommended way to tour Valencia. We loved it!

Great start, then downhill - The trip started great. We had a lovely guide, Luigi. Then, about 45 mins into the trip, our guide was switched out by the tour operator. Our new guide's English was basically incomprehensible. He was very friendly, nice and did try his best, but should never conduct a
tour in English. Basically the tour operator prioritized other guests over us and what began as a five star experience became a one star experience. Very, very disappointing.
