Breathtaking paintings - The reputation of this church is not usurped. It is absolutely splendid and I must say that I have rarely seen such beautiful paintings. The harmonious whole despite the mix of styles is amazing.

A beautiful little church down a small alley. - My opening gambit …. I am not religious in any way. However I do like churches for the stained glass and wall/ceiling paintings. In Valencia we came across Església Parroquial de Sant Nicolau de Bari i Sant Pere Màrtir (about a 100yds from the cathedral) it is a beautiful small church. The entrance is down a small alley way and inside is just amazing with wall and ceiling paintings. I paid €8 extra €2 for the audio which brought the place to life. It explained what each wall & alcove and the story the artist is telling us. With audio guide it was about 1 hour but the information gained will help with future visits to Catholic and Orthodox churches.

One pass - Building difficult to find between the alleys of the old town, plus the entrance is made from the rear of the church. Even if the queue seems to be eternal, in five minutes you're in. The visit is with an audio guide, which in the case of the cathedral seemed a horror, in this case it is essential and very well explained everything. Must see if you are going to Valencia.

Wonderful!!! - It is a Church that deserves to be seen!! It is rightly called the Valencian Sistine Chapel! The frescoes are stunning and the very interesting audio guide helps you better understand what is represented. Also the girls at the reception are very kind and extremely available. An experience not to be missed if you are in Valencia

A magnificent restoration and one of the great discoveries of recent years in Valencia - It is difficult to discover large pictorial ensembles after such a century given to the restoration and research of cultural property. Saint Nicholas is an exception to this rule because thanks to the will of a private individual it has been possible to recover a large set of "lost" (rather poorly preserved and maintained) Baroque frescoes from the city. This attitude is rare in Spain and the recovery of this unusual (and unique) set thanks to exclusively private contributions is to be appreciated. With this initiative Valencia has increased its cultural offer and we can all enjoy a beautiful artistic ensemble.

Nice place .... but a bit forced comparison - The church is very pretty and the visit well organized with multilingual audio guide. The comparison with the Sistine Chapel stems from the simple comment on the restoration carried out with the same care used for the original Sistine Chapel, but in artistic terms it is nowhere near comparable. It is a beautiful Gothic church with a ceiling completely frescoed in the Baroque period, if you have time it may be worth it but I would not put it among the “must-sees” of Valencia.

Recommended, expensive and entertaining staff - We had never been able to see it since it was long in restoration and now we have finally been able to enter. It is a beautiful church of Gothic architecture and Baroque decoration. His frescoes and some paintings and sculptures are striking. I recommend the visit but I must say that the price of admission seems an exaggeration, it is worth the same as entering the Prado Museum, I suppose they take advantage (I do not know who owns it and where the money raised will end up) of the fame it has, the queues to enter are considerable so the collection will also be. Good audio guide that comes with the visit. To say that I read in other comments that the attention of the employees is manifestly improving, I will tell what happened to us because it is the first time that it has happened to me and it has been funny. To say that we are a marriage that is on its way to sixty years and that we have the image, of clothes and appearance, that they have any similar marriage that is on vacation. To get to the entrance you must walk about ten meters from the street to the church and when you enter wines that in the background was an employee attending to two women, ends and without more words he releases us "it is not free, it is paid", as it is, I am funny, smile and say calm man that we will not sneak or peep and run quickly without paying, in short, it was six in the afternoon and I do not know since what time he is working, but if that tells all those who want to visit maybe one answers him as impertinently as he has done or even being more cretinous. The paintings of Vicente Macip, Juan de Juanes and Fernando Yáñez de la Almedina and sculptures of Francisco Salzillo and Vicente López stand out. I would have rated it a four but thanks to the referral I put a three
