Vancouver/Alaska Cruise Adventure - The gardens were beautiful and one of the best I've been too. Very well manicured and identified. The maze was fun although I'm not sure we made it to the middle. Some sort of sign in the middle would be nice to have, but fun none the less. Map was helpful in guiding us through the gardens to ensure we had seen all there was to see.

Well worth the visit for a tranquil experience - We visited this gem in the middle of the city. The gardens were well laid out and very well maintained with small lakes and a waterfall to add to the ambience. Clearly used as a wedding venue as some areas were closed off. There were plants from all over the world in different sections together with various mature trees to provide shade in a hot day. The restaurant catered for Gluten free options and had a nice selection of food and drinks. Big Al’s top tips Give yourself at least half a day to meander through the grounds and enjoy the ambience of nature

Fun day in the Garden - This was a great garden. There were school trips at the garden the same time as my visit. It was an short bus ride from my hotel to the gardens. The main attraction is the garden hedge maze. I will admit, I enjoyed going through it, and it was fun. The garden had many areas with different garden experiences. Pick up a map on your way in to make sure you take in everything. It was a whole day experience. We did a few sections in the morning and the maze. After the maze, we were tired and decided to get a table at the Shaughnessy Restaurant. We could see the back of the restaurant, but could not find the front door. After asking, we find it by the parking area. The restaurant is huge and it fits right in with the surrounding gardens. It is elegant with huge chandeliers, open and airy. I had the special of the day and it was elegantly served, quiche with salad and a delicious dessert. My spouse had a big sandwich of braised beef which came with soup. There is wine and cocktail service which we did not partake as we hoped to continue walking through the parts of the garden we have not seen. After lunch, we had energy to continue our tour of the rest of the garden. A very worthwhile day. This would be a great day for families as the areas are all open and children can run without worry.

A lush oasis - A lush expansive oasis worth the visit any season! Featuring leisurely paths through a variety of a gardens and native + exotic plants, trees & flowers. Most paths are paved and easy to traverse with some natural paths. Wear comfortable shoes as the entire tour will take more than 3 hrs. Always green and with something in bloom, these gardens are a delight any season & very affordable. A cute, well currated cafe + gift shop on site too. And try your skills at the maze ~ Also cute, the baby ducks exploring & turtles catching some sun.

Beautiful gardens, easily reached by bus,and well worth a visit - Beautiful gardens, with a wide variety of plants, many in bloom including a wide variety of rhododendrons and azaleas, and beautifully landscaped with lakes and fountains. There were many species of plants I had never seen before, all immaculately labelled and sections of flora displayed by geographical region. Even though it was a very sunny Saturday and very busy, the large area covered by the gardens means that it did not feel cramped. A surprising addition was a series of Floral displays dotted around the gardens, in a Downton Abbey theme, which attracted a lot of attention, and also a flower-arranging demonstration. The only downside for us as senior citizens was finding that the only restrooms were at the main entrance to the gardens - it would be very helpful if they could put some (at least portaloos) at the farthest point in the gardens too.

Expansive gardens in the city - The maze was a highlight - i think it was my mom’s favorite part. Lots of rhododendrons and tulips in late April. Easy by bus.

Beautiful flowers - The VanDusen botanical gardens is wonderful. Make sure to grab the map to make sure your not missing any of the flowers/trees, otherwise you can get lost co-ordinating the area. We went on a rainy day, but luckily the flowers were still in bloom and not falling to the ground.

More signage needed - We felt it was limited access for using a wheelchair and the Signage overall was poor. What we did see was nice.
